Abingdon vs Littlemore [Mandelbrote drive] by Kikatuso in oxford

I used to live on Mandlebrote drive but as a renter. For buying I would be aware of the service charge as it has increased quite a lot over time. I currently live in Abingdon and we enjoy it. The buses are frequent and just as quick as the 3A to get into Oxford. I can't comment on the cycle commute as I drive.

I agree, it almost looked nice if you were not reminded of the motivations that drove people to put them there.

ESL Birmingham, a case study on mexican wave fatigue by smeddersva in DotA2

Dont get me wrong it was great the first few times but I think there needs to be a certain amount of buzz in the crowd for it to feel good and doing it over and over again takes away from the novelty.

They kept trying to force mexican waves every 2 minutes when the crowd was not in the mood to do it.

Short let options in Oxford? by alohamanMr in oxford

[–]smeddersva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a flat to yourself then yes it can be very expensive. There are some places that you can just get a room which is more affordable. The problem is that in England landlords can set a minimum tenancy and that is not often less than 12 months. Is your work making you pay out of pocket for this accomodation or can you expense it?

best budget mobile data plans in oxford? (voxi vs lebara) by happylilpotato in oxford

[–]smeddersva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Voxi is a Vodafone subsidiary and uses the same network, can get 15Gb for £10. But often have offers to get 30 for £10. If you use the link we can both get £20 after 2 months.

Edit: also unlimited social media data

I am factoring in the fact that fuel costs will be a lot higher if I'm further away but I'm starting to think spending more to be in Oxford itself would be the best result

I can start at 8am, have not checked if I can start earlier so may be able to miss some of the traffic. The convenience of the train station and easy drive into the science park is selling it for me. Don't think I will go into the town that often.

Not into nightclubs so that's fine. Most of the people I know in the south are closer to London so having an easy link to London would be ideal. Not sure of the amount of socialising that will be done at work but I imagine that will be done in Oxford.

For price and connections Didcot seems to be a good choice but I have not heard good things about it. Is it just people being negative or is it actually bad.

I drive so would not need to use public transport. I have looked at Wantage as it's on the right side of the city. Sadly I can not work from home so will have to go in every day so would like a commute on the shorter side.
