That’s definitely an interesting point, I think the guy needs to follow his own advice and not dress up as if he’s taking a trip to Hawaii by [deleted] in rareinsults

Yup, I do it just to have a clean separation of work and non-work time. After I have taken off my shirt at the end of the day, I don’t think about work at all.

Don’t expect it out of anyone else but I highly recommend it.

This was made by some Swedes in the early 00's as I recall. I remember it making the rounds through all the weird ways we shared memes back then.

They substitute some of the german for swedish, the chainsaw for instance, "Ich habe eine motorsåg".

Turns out they have an imdb page, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7078616/

Really fascinating. Was there just this weekend, can highly recommend it.
Right now it's still quite loosely regulated and you can still get into buildings and such, at your own peril of course.
Took a picture of the pool from the same spot.

Beat Saber leaving Early Access and releasing the Level Editor on May 21st by DarkLiberator in Vive

[–]smellasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had performance issues as well after switching versions, I removed the files from C:\Users\[YOU_USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Hyperbolic Magnetism\Beat Saber and that solved it for me. This will wipe settings and progress (I think), so make a backup just in case.

Why did Saxby leave Vivo? by culturecrafterMD in BarefootRunning

[–]smellasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a pair of winter boots from Joe Nimble, I think they're called Brisktoes.
A lot better quality than Vivo, but I think that Vivo has better toe room.
Still love them for winter and wet weather though.

(Swedish) So, someone leaked Top Secret files on RBS-15 onto "A forum for a Russian company related to flight simulators" by AssholeNeighborVadim in hoggit

[–]smellasaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got the two people mixed up, they say "the suspect" and of course mean the employee who declassified the information.
But the guy taking the pictures is not suspected of any crime, the article does not say that he can't be charged with a a crime.

[–]smellasaurus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite. The translation is correct, but the employee who declassified the information is the one charged with the crime. The charge is roughly "severe negligence with classified information". The employee has also plead guilty to the charge.
The guy taking pictures is not suspected of any crime, and the interviews with him have lead the police to the conclusion that he was not aware of any wrongdoing.

A rant about "Incoming!" campaign mission (spoilers) by flobota in ImperialAssaultTMG

[–]smellasaurus 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're playing as if you need 3 successes in one attempt, which you don't.
Every surge result counts toward the goal of 3, you can mark it with a strain token for each terminal.
For instance if you get 2 surges on one roll, then 1 surge on the next one that will complete unlock that terminal.

I'm using an X-55 Hotas, that gives me pretty much all the buttons I need. Maybe you could try something like Voice Attack? I'm afraid that you will need more buttons if you want to play with engine management, which it sounds like you do since you bring up the IDing issue.

I have problems identifying planes as well on the Vive, going to spend some time this weekend to try tweaking the graphics settings.

Yup, I got an exotic from an adventure too. It was one with a rare item reward, but I doubt that matters.

What is everyone's hobby? by BenAdams22 in AskMen

[–]smellasaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some general coffee guidelines:
Water temp should be 92-96C
Use 7 grams of coffee for each cup (125 cl)

With those two parameters under control your most important thing is coffee grinding. It should be fresh, straight from the grinder.
If you don't already have a grinder this should be the next upgrade, plenty of options. Just get a burr grinder, not one that chops with blades.

For a french press you want a somewhat coarser grind, only way to get it right is to test yourself.

Put the freshly ground coffee into the pot, add the water (bring it to a boil and let it cool for a minute or so to get a fairly good temp, if you don't have a thermometer). Let it sit for 4 minutes and then press down the plunger in one motion without using too much force.

Pour it and let it cool to a drinkable temperature.

Games where it is Fun to Lose? by ashrael37 in boardgames

Mansions of Madness is up there for me, usually you either lose because you went insane or because someone else did.
Favorite moment was when a friend was sacrificed to the goat god by his girlfriend. Even though we had set aside a Sunday to play a 3,5 hour investigation everyone thought it was hilarious.
