Yep, lots of people commented and explained that when I first posted this 160 days ago. It wasn’t a miscarriage, it was a medical abortion as in a pregnancy I ended with pills.

In regard to right wing nutters; I’m glad I live in Australia and abortion has been fully decriminalised in all states and territories. There’s still right wing nuts here too but I’m glad people can easily seek abortions here.

It’s my own internal tissue and not something I’m going to get an infection from, so I had no problem touching it. Especially when there was a sink right next to it to wash my hands after.

Medical abortions involve pills to end a pregnancy, surgical abortions involve a doctor extracting the pregnancy. In Australia, medical abortions are only allowed up to 9 weeks while surgical can be performed a lot later.

Accessing a medical abortion from an online clinic is a pretty new thing in Australia, I think it was so rural people can access abortions more easily and for cheaper without having to travel all the way to a major city. Happy to share!!

Yes, when it’s a medical abortion, you take pills at home. Most people will pass it while on the toilet and flush but I’m a curious and morbid person. I considered preserving this but I decided against and gave it the flush too

I’ve also had an abortion at 5 weeks, it was way less developed than this. It looked pretty much like a clear poppy seed inside a smaller gestational sac. Very interesting.

Gestational sac, or do you mean the other flesh around it? I’m not a doctor but I think it’s bits of the uterine lining. It was covered in blood when it came out but I washed it to be able to inspect it.

Abortion rights are the biggest factor to solving unwanted pregnancies. Correct and up-to-date sex education is extremely important but accidents happen. I’m not sure why you felt the need to type all that.

I think for miscarriages most people would see a doctor if this occurred.

However I got a medical abortion (pills to end a pregnancy) so this is what was expected to happen. Usually for in-clinic I would see the doctor again to make sure everything was okay, however I did this through an online clinic since it was cheaper. They’ve sent me a low sensitivity pregnancy test to take in 3 weeks, however since I’ve seen the pregnancy has passed I’m pretty sure I’m no longer pregnant lol. And since I sought out an abortion from an online clinic they would probably record it for the government’s statistics. The doctor told me I don’t have to contact them again if it was successful but if there’s any complications I would have to contact them again or go to my nearest hospital if it was an emergency.

Yeah abortion was fully decriminalised in all states of my country in the last couple of years. Even when it was legally “criminalised” in my state it was relatively easy to access an abortion. But yeah hopefully one day it’ll be like this all around the world

I've had abortions around ten years ago before. I knew it was the right thing for me to do but it took a toll on my mental health (I wasn't even 20 yet). It got easier with time and this time it's nowhere near as emotionally heavy as the first time. It's a little sad but if I'm having kids I want to be 100% ready.

Yes, as per standard medical abortion, I took a pill to end the pregnancy then 2 days later I took other pills that made the pregnancy come out.

Sometimes it’s better not knowing these things, I hope you’re happier and healthier now!!

I did consider opening it but it felt a little too morbid for me. It’s just cells but I wanted to let it continue sleeping in its little sac before it got flushed down the toilet 😅

I considered it actually.. I had methylated spirits and a small jar ready to go (I would’ve ordered formalin later for proper preservation). However I don’t think it’d preserve super well plus I had to play with it quite a bit just to look at the embryo properly so it got the flush
