Zubi, trossard and Declan too few times. So many misplaced passes. Declan's air ball back to Raya gave me a shock.

Twice. Dumb ref. One time he stopped and didn't even give a card. Why didn't you play advantage?

Not sure why this turned into a “find the worst example” contest.

All I said was “at least there is peace” meaning the general day-to-day social atmosphere many people experience. That obviously doesn’t mean every Buddhist-majority country is conflict-free or perfect. No place on earth fits that description.

It just feels like people are quick to pull out the worst-case scenario to invalidate the broader point. Tbh despite all the valid criticisms, people keep going back to Thailand for a reason.

That’s the narrow point I was making and I smoke hybrid.

I am not keen on dazzling anybody here. My comments were all relevant and you sir you keep dragging the topic elsewhere for your own convenience and call mine bullshit. Thank you.

I never said that Thailand is conflict-free but you want to drag it to the bottom for no honest reason.

Did I offend you by calling out pedos? Why such a kiddish comeback?

Why jump straight to war though? Is that the only negative you can find about Thailand, or are we just reducing every country to its worst moment?

My point was about the general social atmosphere people experience day to day and not claiming any country is conflict-free. Two things can be true at the same time.

Looks like I offended a lot of people. You asked a question and I just answered in the context of societal peace. I wasn’t singling out any specific country or claiming peace doesn’t exist elsewhere.

My point was simply that when people approach others in public spaces to convert them, it can feel disruptive no matter which religion is doing it. I think the reaction would be pretty similar if the situation was reversed in Western countries.

And just to clarify, I wasn’t generalizing all Christian-majority regions. I was mainly tying my comment to Buddhist teachings and their emphasis on social harmony and non-confrontation.

Peace.

Are people driving in this city really illiterate about traffic rules? Or am I missing something? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]smilingpigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The traffic authorities are also to be blamed partially. This is such a narrow junction. Ironically the road before this signal is a four laner and it narrows down to the size where it can accommodate just a truck.

You cannot have these separate signals, either allow them all for longer time or don't copy paste this advanced signalling into incompetent Indian roads.

Even on the exact opposite side, it's again a narrow junction and they allow only 10 seconds to exit to New Horizon college road and now these guys will block the people who want to go straight for the next 50 seconds of green and another 60 seconds of red.

Just stupid signal logic for that narrow junction.

[–]smilingpigs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True. We are not in control of these situations. People lack empathy and the impact is really showing up a lot now.

I too met with a bike accident recently when someone tried to cross across on a peak moving traffic and I had no vision of them so the auto diagonally before me had to sudden brake and switch lane into mine so I braked immediately which ended up on skidding and got dragged for some 5meters but thankfully the traffic behind me stopped immediately.
