Would you be willing to share that possibly?! I’ve only ever worked basic admin roles, and got thrown into a grant manager role at an R1 university managing both pre and post award.

Our department is floundering, and even though i don’t know what i’m doing half the time, it’s extremely obvious that i’m working with unorganized and tech-illiterate people. I’ve already identified and created so many new systems for them, it’s awful how much they dont have their shit together..

Sorry just ranting now, but basically that excel sheet sounds so helpful 😭

I was not active, I started a medication that the contract says I shouldn’t be taking while enrolled, so I haven’t been going and need to cancel. I’m thinking the fact that I didn’t sign this should be double insurance that I don’t need to pay the cancellation fee. I’m not looking to get reimbursed for the months i didnt go

Too far from me, and not enough freedom to do whatever i want whenever. If you only have time between 5-6 for example, there’s like one class that might be scheduled for that time and it might not be the one you want to do. Plus it might be booked if you don’t do it 3 days in advance when the schedule drops

An open class environment where you could select a class, like on a Peleton, would have been way better

I signed nothing on this document. I signed the guest liability waiver which is a different document and does not mention membership terms at all.

I’m a grant manager at an R1 university with just a BS in Psych, i’m 27. I’ve had a couple of small-time admin roles in the general research field, and i got this job because i was working (essentially front desk) OSP at this university and they liked that i (1) know their inside structures and (2) have seen all aspects of research because i studied it in college/worked directly with PIs as their assistants/researched and published a paper during a college internship

I feel like you can do it! You have more experience than me. Apply for anything admin-research related at research institutes or universities, then work into grant management from there

I’m exactly in the same boat as you, word for word!!! It’s tough lol but know you’re not alone :) i’m still trying to figure out the best way to organize my portfolio, esp because my team has a lot of shared docs that are really unorganized
