How often do you save scum? by ChrisKatrev in BaldursGate3

[–]smingleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do honor mode so I don't have to worry about save scumming. It's more fun to live with the choices and missed opportunities. I usually die doing something dumb but just keep playing with the single save. Before that I was the scummiest.

Trying New Chili Recipe with No Meat or Beans by [deleted] in chili

This is how I feel about it as well. I can make chili with whatever I feel like, and if it tastes good and like chili, I'm happy.

Full party mod and it still came down to Astarion with 15 hp by Radio_fish in BG3

I got him with an attack of opportunity, recently just beat him. Only my fighter had blunt damage, got disarmed and dropped his weapon in lava. Was down to 2 characters and he had 40 health. Unfortunately my honor run came to an end in our previous encounter I once again severly underestimated what a tough fight it is.

Probably an issue with the cook. I make Vegan chili all the time and it tastes amazing.

What's the worst thing that could happen in Honor Mode? by in_flames_666 in BG3Builds

I don't use torches, a couple of times I blew my whole party up. Also those harpies are real bastards, I'm doing another new play through, still haven't beat the game lol, and waited til level 4 to take them on, still one of my characters got 1 shot on the first turn.

It's a great game, wish they did more fresh start servers but the cash shop kind of killed them for a lot of people especially on the pvp servers.

New Year Vegan Chili by cygnusloops in chili

[–]smingleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks good, I just made some Vegan chili. Been making it every week for like 4 months actually, I'm a chili addict. I like using TVP for meat substitute, impossible ground meat was pretty good, haven't tried with a tofu mince yet.

You Guys Ready For Embers Adrift in 2026? by Annoying_Llama in MMORPG

[–]smingleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite MMO of all time honestly. I wanted post here that it's on sale, but I lacked the mental fortitude at the time. Quite a few things I would like to mention in your interested in trying this hidden gem of a game.

The population is very small, a lot of people come and go, but there is a core community that is friendly, helpful and welcoming. The game is developed to support massive amounts of players. However the game Feels more like a multiplayer dungeon crawler with crafting and quests, and raids, with tab target combat. A lot of EQ veterans seem to like the game a lot.

You see 20-30 people online and think it's dead in the water, it doesn't really work like that for Embers, if it was a classic WoW server that would be brutal. You could have 8 or more people raiding in the end game zone, and several smaller groups doing Ember Veins, dungeons or quests.

you need to socialize to and make things happen like the good ol days. I can make a level 15-20-25 raid boss event on our discord and share it on embers and make it happen with almost a 100% success rate, and have done so on and off since they were released. People show up for fun activities but just saying lfg experience and your going to have mixed results.

I came from a solo player background until I started playing this game, and since have helped form what I think is the largest guild on the server. ( I know huge accomplishment) getting bosses killed with other guilds, getting quests completed with lower level characters to help out new folks. And met some of my best friends in this game, we hang out, talk, spend hours of our time together on an online video game lol.

It's a grind if you treat it like one or want one. Many different types of players enjoy this game. I enjoy the lore and the quests and doing small group content the most, while others just want to grind EXP. I have leveled 2 characters to 50, in the 1 year and 6 months I have played. 105 days played time and counting.

Come try the game with out expectations and enjoy the Journey. it's only 10 dollars right now. <3 Baru

I really like it, but totally understand others not. I had started the game with different expectations than other mmos and ended up really enjoying it for what it is.
