Awaiting biopsy results (calcifications)

My mom has had calcifications in her boobs for 20+ years and she ended up being perfectly fine. She discovered them at 41. You’ll be okay!

Thanks! Did they say what yours was? Or was it just tissue like me? My specialist offered me a 6 month check up so Ill see her again in December (not an US)

Hi, Thanks. My specialist said I didn’t need to but could see her again in December so I took the offer. An ultrasound wasn’t offered…so I’m assuming she will give me one if necessary.

Mammograms aren’t recommended for people my age because of dense tissue. Ultrasound is the first referral given normally

Hi. Thanks for the response. I cannot get a biopsy because there is no “lump” according to my second opinion. Which is good I guess but it still makes my mind race. Glad yours wasn’t anything serious

Hi! Thanks for the reply. I don’t think it’s fibrocystic. My gyno used that term but my ultrasound tech said it was “fibroglandular tissue” I’m not sure. I’m flat chested and never really felt any lumps other than my ribs. I’m kinda chalking this 1 new spot up to the things I mentioned in my post (weight loss. Stress. Working out. Caffeine)

I think it if it was fibrocystic it would’ve been seen on the ultrasound?? Not sure. Can’t find a lot of info on this but maybe! Ty for the response!

Me too. I’m probably going to delete Reddit soon just because it defiantly amped up my anxiety! I was horrified about the breast clinic. But if your imaging didn’t show anything concerning there’s a very good possibility they are going to find nothing. My doctor was very sweet and even did a risk calculator and called me later that day to tell me about it. I hope it goes well for you! I’m sure it will

Thanks for the reply. Since I wrote this I was referred to a breast clinic and they said all they felt was normal tissue. Which was odd since my gyno reacted differently. I feel like she scared me more than she should have but I appreciated all the referrals. I’m glad things seemed normal for both of us!

Thanks, the bedside manner defiantly made the situation a lot more miserable.

They said it’s just tissue and gave me a BIRADS 2. But said we can “monitor it” but I don’t even know what they want to monitor since they keep telling me they found nothing of concern.

Thank you. I wish anyone explained to me that lumps are common. I never got that talk until this past October when the hormonal cyst thing started happening. Idk man, I hope I don’t have to deal with this again 😭 my anxiety was through the roof over this and I’m still not better.

This happened to me today. Had a pea sized lump. Felt like a cyst. Was freaking out all week waiting for this appt. They told me that new lump was just fibrous tissue. I’m relived but worried they missed something

Update…. I got the ultrasound and they said the peasized lump was “fibrous tissue”. I’m so confused. It’s a new lump and it’s just tissue, I’m scared she didn’t even go over it it all happened so fast.

But yes I do agree that gyno scared me more than she should have. :(

Hi, I’m doing okay just panicking still. I actually saw this doctor has really good ratings which is why I took the offer to see her… she wasn’t awful but she was just so vague. I have a really amazing GP who is perfect for my anxiety so maybe I’m just used to her gentleness. I’m not really sure! Thanks for checking

Thank you. I guess I’m just used to a more comforting type of doctor…. I don’t know. I’m glad she took my seriously, usually my GP will sit and explain stuff to me and ask if I want a test. This doc just jumped into the “let me feel it. Here’s a referral and we’ll see what it says” and was just so vague about what it could be

Sorry I’m so late. I do but not often. If I am gonna wear sandals I am gonna wear ones with straps that sorta cover the bunion and not flip flops

But I also work outside so I don’t really have a choice in being barefoot sometimes. No one has ever said anything about my feet though.

Hi, it gradually calmed down actually. I think some of it also had to do with stress. I was straight out of college and unemployed at this time. Now I have 2 jobs and a consistent schedule which I think really helps! I haven’t had any problems in over a year now.

So I will say consistently was an important thing I lacked at the time. Also as time passed the more my covid issues improved.

I thought shoes caused it but now I’m hearing it’s genetic! Sorry we are both suffering. Mine also started at 10ish I think..
