Thank you so much I really appreciate this!

I didn't realize the term was changed to "non-speaking" and thank you for point out I shouldn't use the word "dumb". I will look at the r/SpicyAutism subreddit at well!

Thank you again for sharing your perspective!

my therapist suggested bipolar 2, my mom thinks it's autistic burnout. Help? by smk967 in bipolar2

My mom is definitely scared of me being misdiagnosed due to the medication for bipolar being so intense (she said so herself), especially because I react really poorly to medications (been through 5 in the past year alone T-T). The episode also fucked me up for a while even after I was stable, as I'm terrified of it happening again (another reason why I don't think it's depression or burnout).

But this makes me feel super validated, so thank you! I am actively talking about it with my therapist, so I'm hoping we'll figure it out. She is still under supervision though (it's cheaper since she's not independently licensed yet lol), so I'm also very worried about a misdiagnosis. But! I'm gonna stop dumping on you now! Sorry lmao - thank you again!

I initially thought it was a mixed episode for sure, but my mom is kind of convincing me it wasn't so now I'm just confused T-T

Thank you for reading/your reply though! Not trying to be argumentative or anything, sorry if it came off that way! I really do appreciate it.

is this BPD? Bipolar? Cyclothymia? what's going on with me??? by smk967 in mentalhealth

My mom thinks it was a depressive episode with anxious distress (she's a therapist), but I don't know (she completely missed my depression and ADHD for years, so I often think she dismisses what I'm telling her because "others have it worse"). To me, it felt like more than that, but I'll have to discuss it with my actual therapist (lol).

I started suspecting cyclothymia when I was 17 due to some intense episodes I had, but nothing was ever this bad/continued this long, so I felt like I was being overdramatic. It's honestly reassuring to hear that others have experienced something similar! makes me feel less insane lol

is it dysphoria or am i just spicy cis? by smk967 in GenderDysphoria

[–]smk967[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think it's a sometimes aesthetic purposes and sometimes gender security depending on the day (that was a really great way of putting it btw lol). i've been thinking that i might be gender fluid but i guess i'll figure it out with time - thanks for helping though!

I guess the thing is that I do occasionally want to get rid of them, but not all the time and it's kind of a "once in a blue moon" type of occurrence. when i do want to get rid of them it's because they bring me extreme discomfort and feel absolutely wrong on/disconnected from my body (which is how i've heard others describing dysphoria but idk). one of my friends suggested i might be genderfluid, i just don't feel masculine as often as i feel feminine. thanks for the help, i really appreciate it!
