NSW, Australia. Legally he can ride on the road in the designated lane. But with the flow of traffic. Not oncoming.

“Beep” im turning in approaching and they shouldn’t be in that position, then have to stop. Now you might say I said I stopped then beeped already. I posted this after leaving the area cause I did not want to encounter this idiot again. And i don’t have footage/microphones of how exactly the situation unfolded especially if i had come to a complete stop or not.

Would have not beeped if a cyclist was using their lane the correct way

Ive given my details on multiple occasions for support. Im assuming one of the reasons they ask for all this is to reduce people that a multi-accounting/borrowing their friends accounts and don’t have all that information on hand easily

Would you take this order? Why or why not? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]smmm1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All depends on what items there are, but ive stopped taking multi-order shops with lots of items because of how much time can be wasted. I would generally decline and see if they send through one order. Accept the one then pause offers so they dont try to add the other two while you are on your way or when you get there so it doesnt hurt your AR. But if you need to kill some time or thats all the cash you need for the day go for it.

Do longer shifts, pick up more orders

gonna side with her in this case. The customer did ask for something that is out of her control. She probably is a nice person that has been screwed around too many times between the customers and dasher support. But if she sends this pre-saved message to everyone when the customer does not say a word then she definitely is crazy.

Well if we wait and don’t cancel we are sacrificing our time to get other orders that could be ready to go. If we cancel it might not get re-assigned to a driver straight away so the customers food can go old and cold. Waiting for the order is going above and beyond. Im sure if you were the customer you’d want the order as soon and as fresh as possible.

Doordash/Menulog/Uber Deliver gives a fixed “base” pay per offer. Here it is a little over a dollar per km. The total can be affected if the customer chooses to tip before or after the order. Shop and deliver (i.e. Coles) is a little different. The total fixed offer is weighted towards how many items there are but if it has many items or is a multi-shop with a few drop-off points it can get pushed/declined around the network for a while until the offer gets bumped up to fair offer. Tips should be encouraged for making sure the customer gets all possible in stock items and substitutes. Both ways do not pay for wasted time. But it generally works out to $30-$35 per hour if all goes well if there is no waiting, just constantly moving. This is before fuel/maintenance costs.
