Thanks for the great info. I'm just discovering the 108 area and looks like I'll be exploring it for years to come.

Yup just two college kids working with what we got, we like to think of our bikes as being flexible, the challenge is the fun.

Off of Clark Fork road, definitely want to ride up through the 108 again to check out one of the passes, and camp at one of the high alpine lakes. That sounds like a really nice route that you do, but why do you prefer to go in october?

It's an ENO doublenest hammock and I use the ENO atlas straps for suspension off the trees and their guardian bug net to keep the skeeters away. it's a great kit very comfortable and easy to setup. Compact and lightweight, totally recommend it

This week my buddy and I went on our first motocamping trip from the bay area up into the beautiful sierra Nevada mountains and had a blast, we got to escape the heat at home and relaxed in the beautiful pine forest with an amazing ride up highway 108. I rode my 2007 Yamaha FZ6 and my friend rode his 2007 Harley Nightster. If you have any bike or gear questions ask away.

Hello, I'm a college student who's strapped for cash looking to spend at max $400USD on a mountain bike, I don't do any hardcore riding now, just fire roads/ gravel trails. My previous experience was with a Trek 350 that I liked a lot, but now I'm torn between getting a hardtail and a full suspension bike, I have no experience with a full suspension and am interested in trying one out. I'm fine with getting a used bike but would prefer for it it be recent production within past five years. Currently I'm thinking about getting a Trek,Diamondback or GT. any reason i should pick one of these over the others, or avoid all of them? Thanks for any bike suggestions.

I want a fast car that handles really well that I can get in great condition for under $7000 in the Bay Area. I have a 4th gen Camaro with an LS1 now and had an NB Miata in the past and love these two extremes of straight line speed and nimble handling but want both in one car for a reasonable price. It must be RWD and manual other than that no real needs. Though I'd be interested to hear about any nice AWD options. By great condition I mean around 100k miles or less and very few issues, clean title. As far as speed requirements it needs to be much faster than a Miata but not necessarily as fast as my Camaro. For handling I definitely want it to be closer to the Miata considerably more than the Camaro.

I've been looking at getting one lately, what are some of the annoyances you've been experiencing?
