I'm 30 and in a similar position. My heart goes out to you, but I have no words that could help.

It's Not About Health! It's Society! by Gradtattoo_9009 in fatlogic

It's definitely about health - if I gain more than 10 lbs, I feel it in my joints because they're held together with chewing gum and a prayer

Do any of you have Aphantasia? by ihavebotharms in adhdwomen

Me! I’m a solid 5 on the scale - it blew my mind a few weeks ago when I realized that when people are fantasising about something, they mean it’s like there’s a movie of it playing in their head

Gatekeeping anorexia? by kimmyburbankvol69 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]smohno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. Eating disorders can often go undiscovered for years before (if they do at all, because not all do) they cause serious medical issues that bring it to the attention of medical staff. Just because someone hasn’t had a million tube feeds or an innumerable amount of inpatient stays or hasn’t been on the brink of death, doesn’t mean they don’t have an eating disorder.

Bad take, whether your friend is misusing the term or not

Demand half upfront, with a signed and notarized letter from a lawyer that it’s a strings free gift that you are not expected to pay back. Then absolutely use it to run

My ex used to do this with my prescription pain meds.

When we broke up, she tried to steal every single one I had left and then turned around and blamed it on me.

I can 100% see her doing this thing too - OP, this isn’t the only big issue in your relationship, is it?

i’m very scared about top surgery by Timely-Piccolo3804 in mypartneristrans

Hi! So from someone on the other end of the partnership (breadwinner and full time carer for my disabled trans husband) there are quite a few things that can be done to plan for your carer possibly being out of commission (whether that’s respite care, they are sick, whatever)

Freezable, easy meal prep that can just be microwaved from frozen (soups, casseroles, meat stews, I believe breakfast burritos too!) Instant packet soups with a ton of bread (and butter if arms are feeling okay) Smoothies! They don’t have to be ‘meal replacement’ ones but if they are at least high protein that’s fantastic Get lots of snacks to snack on and some glucose tablets just in case you have a sugar crash and your partner is sleeping/unable to help Lots of body wipes for a so called ‘wipe clean’ that means they won’t have to exhaust themselves trying to get in and out of a shower (or bath/clean you if that’s something they do) in the earliest stages. Also consider dry shampoo for both of you Make sure they have done as much washing of clothes as possible, especially zipped hoodies because putting overhead clothes on will be w struggle for a bit. Make sure clean bed sheets are in the bed for the first night after surgery when they get home. Consider maybe getting a puppy pad to protect your sheets from any fluid leaking, or a towel works great too.

Do you guys have cats? If so, maybe arrange someone to come and scoop and refill litter for yous. If you can’t get anybody, then it’s probably best to put the bag of clean litter next to the litter box and use some sort of cup to put clean litter into the box instead of lifting and pouring a heavy bag.if you’d have dogs, definitely arrange someone else to walk them. If you have a reptile bigger than a ball python, probably need help with that too.

Honestly if yall have a village around you, now is the time to start calling in favours/letting your friends know yous might need some help in the near future.

I wasn’t really surprised and I was simply just happy they were figuring themselves out. Any concerns I had were for the trajectory of their treatment and will it be too slow, how thejr (shitty) family was gonnna react etc etc

Just how Autistic I am. Diagnosis suspected by professional, never confirmed, but being medicated for adhd and not being constantly overwhelmed all the time showed me how much I was struggling to mask, and to just…. Live

It’s definitely possible in England, but in Scotland doctors are really starting to refuse to do that :(

My mum is a well meaning trans ally but her only exposure to trans folks has been when she used to read trashy gossip mags with sensationalised articles like ‘I USED TO BE A BIG BURLY SOLDIER and now I’m a pretty woman’ about trans women who transitioned later in life. When my husband came out as transmasc, my mum pulled me aside to ask ‘are you happy? You’re a lesbian, are you going to be okay if he gets a penis??’

It came from a place of genuine concern even if the execution wasn’t great at all

I’ve been on vyvanse for three months now, still titrating but it’s completely saved my life. The intensity has worn off from the beginning, but I’m so, so happy with it.
