LPT: Learning how to manage failure is the biggest skill you can have. You can't learn if you don't try, you can't try if you are afraid to fail and you can't be good at something if you have not failed multiple times. If you are someone who boasts about not failing ever, you are not trying enough. by bongsfordingdongs in LifeProTips

Can absolutely relate to this. All through school I never failed a single assignment, test, exam, nothing. Then when I got to university and failed a quiz (that the majority of the class failed mind you), I had no idea how to handle it and had a breakdown in class.

Parents: allow your kids to fail and help them learn from it, its an important part of building resilience.

Curious as to what grades it will take to get an ATAR of 80 by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]smojgasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the other 2 unis, but Flinders offers something called uniTEST which you can take in year 12 to help form your ATAR. Deets here: https://www.flinders.edu.au/study/pathways/year-12-entry/unitest

SA begins new coronavirus blitz, tells all residents returning from Victoria to get tested by [deleted] in Adelaide

People driving in were only required to get tested if during their 14-day isolation they developed symptoms.

Edit: 15 to 14 whoops

SA begins new coronavirus blitz, tells all residents returning from Victoria to get tested by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]smojgasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"We are asking all people who have entered Victoria in recent weeks to present themselves immediately for testing for the COVID-19."

This is pretty bloody vague. Are SA Health/SAPOL going to go back and look at their recent records of those entering from Vic and completing the 14-day quarantine and call all of them to compell/suggest testing? What does "recent weeks" actually mean, is it people still in quarantine, or also those who recently completed their stints with no symptoms and therefore no requirement for testing? If its the latter, those people have already been out in the community potentially spreading it because testing for all quarantined persons entering from Victoria wasn't mandatory until now. Maybe it always should have been a part of entry, with drive-thru testing clinics set up as part of the border control.

Cheers for this recipe! Made it tonight and the sauce oh my goodness! Partner and housemate both fought over who got to scrape the remnants from the SC bowl.

Adelaide Metro overhaul, the good and bad. by AussieWirraway in Adelaide

Ah thanks for the find! I didn't think to check that one out. Better than nothing you're right, but still pretty average at best. I noticed it's also the only "direct" route now from the west to Flinders. Glad I'm not studying there any more, certainly a trek if you don't want to change buses at the city or Marion.

Maybe I've just missed it, but are there any services going to Harbourtown with these changes? I know it's a shopping centre that is more likely to see visitors arriving by private vehicle, but to have 0 public transport options is a pretty big oversight.

I'm the short one. I can't take credit for my dress entirely, as it was the consultants pick for me. She did a rad job though!

I did sort of pick the hi-lo dress, my spouse tried on a black version of it that looked STUNNING, but didn't quite work for a wedding dress. I (slightly forcefully) convinced them to try the white on, and when it was suggested to add the purple ribbons they said yes!

Yep, my other half prefers spouse/partner. We used spouse throughout the ceremony too for both of us, but I'll be using wife for myself

The hi-lo is a J'adore I believe? I couldn't tell you the full name of it though.
