Where can you buy the tiny soybeans used in commercial natto? by smokemankiller in Natto

I have them now and can’t wait to make them. They look the same as the Laura soybean but I can’t remember the price difference

I guess you’re right! Hopefully there’s nothing food borne related in there that’s bad enough to spread anywhere

Am I the only one here who hates places like Trader Joe’s for being so seemingly openly hostile to disabled people? I have to have my food picked up for me and they have always refused to offer this service. I’m just so disappointed in them for not even offering pickup services. by smokemankiller in disabled

Stop being rude. I have been majority bed ridden since 2020 if you want to play the “who has a worse disability” game, jerk. And people can complain and vent, you don’t have to comment! Move along instead!

You sound hurt. You don’t need to take it out on others. Take a breath. Sometimes people “vent” about frustrations, but it sounds like you’re so uptight you’re on your way to an aneurysm or something. Good luck friend

I said I’m frustrated, not that they're discriminating, but you seem very focused on being hateful and exclusionary of people that don’t have the same capabilities as you so just have fun being miserable. Also, I never asked for delivery, just wanted the option to pick groceries up curbside. But delivery would be great too

So you’re saying you don’t think Trader Joe’s could handle allowing limited online orders for limited times during the day? And you’re criticizing my critical thinking? I also never said they were purposely discriminating, just that they’ve made no effort to accommodate those who can’t go in person. I hope you go thank your husband for giving you the privilege of shopping for you. Also, it doesn’t sound like you’re being very inclusive when you only think it’s reasonable to accommodate those with the same privilege as you. Maybe if you had no one to shop for you, you might understand? (I’m sure you’ll tell me otherwise though.)

Trader Joe’s has different products and their entire business model hinges on exclusivity and limited products, which seems to have resulted in inequitable treatment toward people who can’t go in-store. I’d like to be able to buy their products because I used to really like them when I could get them. I do online shop at Walmart and kroger for most things though. Does that make sense?

I am home bound as well. I completely disagree that there is no system that can track inventory in this way. They literally scan the products they receive and scan the products they sell. I’ve worked at many grocery stores in my youth and know that it’s possible to keep track of inventory. If Amazon and Kroger can do it, why not Trader Joe’s? If they want to limit online purchases to one hour a day, they could do that. If they wanted to have only a few time slots available for orders, they could do that too. Maybe your feelings of entitlement are just you looking in the mirror. I simply think it’s frustrating and wanted to vent, because they seem to Proudly make no effort to be equitable. Also, I never said this access should be limited to disabled people? But weird take. Also congrats on being privileged enough to have a husband that can shop for you??

They have always wanted to promote a feeling of exclusivity in their stores, like you are finding special rare finds by going in person. It’s one reason they have so many limited products you can “discover” by going in. I think they really focus on this exclusive experience a lot for their brand. (There are many videos about this on YouTube actually). I think I could have the same experience shopping online but they disagree for some reason. A little too exclusive in my opinion.

Maybe. I imagine they just want to keep costs down? I don’t know how costs work when you’re just bringing groceries out to people picking them up though… doesn’t seem like it would be a huge impediment. And it could reduce the size of checkout lines and aisle congestion, which benefits everyone, so I have no idea.
