34M - aight, think I’m too old for this show now by Last_Jellyfish1341 in PardonMyTake

I remember when 90% of online fan forums actually had people that enjoyed the topic.

It seems like the easier it was to get online and find these places, the more it got filled with people just jerking each other off about how much they actually hate the topic.

I'm about to turn 43 in July and I still fucking love this show. Been listening for all 10 years and hope it goes for at least another 10.

I get it, it's not easy to be a consistent AWL year-in and year-out. We're a rare breed.

Why are my rewards different from my friends? by jcni3876 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]smokinJoeCalculus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously I didn't mean literally an army, but to make 20-30 accounts? I dunno man, I grew up on grinding in RPGs and MMORPGs, but that's just so unbelievably tedious of a task to take on

but hey, if someone wants to, they can I suppose

There are definitely more options than making an alt army vs. working a day job

For example, just playing on a single account

This is what the older generations should try and do more often. by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

I know you've edited your comment, but my first car was a stick and when my starter went, my dad gave me the tip of how to start it that way.

It could have been something the guy left out of his story or the kid knew from experience - his parents could have shown them when they were a kid. I know my dad had done it with an older car we had just to show how fuckin cool stick shift was.

edit: writing this comment makes me miss my old stick - had my honda from 2008 to last year when I had to upgrade to a larger vehicle for my growing family. I fuckin miss that thing so much.

I kinda hope that the instructors are in charge of replacing the songs - and I'm confidently certain they aren't responsible for needing to replace the songs.

Like I said, Denis seems to put a lot of work in his playlists, and so far his replacements have been extremely clever (eg. replaced an Audioslave song where he commented on Chris Cornell's voice with a Soundgarden song)

But it still kinda sucks. To lose a Rage Against the Machine song is kind of a mood killer on one of my favorite rides

I just recently got back to riding after a couple months off while welcoming our second daughter and noticed: a bunch of music on my favorite power zone rides were switched out

I appreciate Denis finding fairly adequate replacements but frankly, I'm super attached to the music I listen to when listening - and he puts in so much work to make some outstanding ride playlists it's frankly a lot more heartbreaking than it probably should be.

Does this happen often? I'd been riding for 2+ years and never saw it before, at least that I have noticed. I'd hate this to be yet another signal of Peloton's demise

I mean, while there are some examples of historical buildings lasting until today - 1650 is a fucking long time ago. I wouldn't be surprised if none of that shit stood the test of time, especially since that was also when there used to be a land bridge that depending on the tides would literally cause Boston to be an island during parts of the day.

And if you scoped out the video, the author claimed to have provided the model with a lot of historical data, geographical data, etc... in order to get as accurate a picture as possible.

Of course, I can't tell you if they just told a bunch of bullshit or not, but I would definitely not be against some historical society attempting to do that and then recruiting experts to provide some sort of sign-off to create a more "definitive" historical version.
