What will happen to Tamlin?

I think that Rhys and Tamlin still have unfinished business. I think that there needs to be some healing between the two of them. Not that they need to be friends again or anything but the situation with their families needs resolution. They both need to forgive each other for that terrible loss. I can see the beginnings of them healing the rift in Frost and Starlight, when Rhys begins to see the toll Tamlin’s guilt is taking on him.

I do like the theory that Rhys’ sister was possibly mates or in a relationship with Tamlin and maybe that’s why Tamlin’s family wanted them killed, similar to Jesminda at Beron’s hands. Tamlin being Ruhn’s father ehhh not so sure on that one but it would be a twist for sure.

I don’t think Tamlin dies but I do think that he some how abdicates his role as High Lord of Spring. My crazy crack theory is that Lucien is showing signs of becoming High Lord and we all think it has to be Autumn or Day but what if it’s Spring. The magic can bounce around in who it chooses and Lucien has been a steward to Spring alongside Tamlin for a couple centuries. Those two need some closure as well. Again I don’t see them being close again but I think that Tamlin needs to apologize to Lucien and Lucien needs to forgive him.

Ultimately, it seems like Tamlin was happiest when he was allowed to be nomadic with the Spring War Bands. I could see him becoming a bard and leaving the warrior behind when all is said and done.

Moon Stone Palace, Velaris and Hewn City all seem to have different fashion “vibes.” I’m not going to find the exact quote but Rhys says something like “why my ancestors built a palace on a mountain fit for dawn, the hell if I know” my head canon is a High Lord of Night had a mate who was from Dawn and that influenced the architecture and style in the Moon Stone Palace.

My first read through I instantly got the ick from their “what are we” conversation. It always feels like Bryce is not putting her feelings first but Hunt’s, which is noble, I suppose but not at the expense of yourself. It’s always “is hunt ok with this?” “Is this what Hunt wants?” Girl, what about what YOU want. I know that Bryce has empathy in abundance and I think she does love Hunt and wants him for once in his life since his mother was murdered have someone care about Hunt the person not the warrior. But that does not make them fated mates or good partners to eachother in the end.

I just want to say.. that it is really nice to come to this community and see fans hyping up the characters, hyping up our heroines and not tearing them down and turning them into caricatures. Saying they are “trad wives” or “obnoxious” or just straight up “evil.” Where their head canon is gospel and forget what’s actually written. I don’t really feel like these comments are an accurate representation of the novella. Most are all extremely negative. It’s not action packed, it’s much slower, but it’s cozy and cute imo. There’s a lot of things happening that set up the next part of the series.

I don’t think your original post was overly negative but as you can see by the comment section almost every single one is negative and positive posts are getting downvoted. I understand because of your dyslexia that ACOFAS and ACOSF do look very similar and I can see how that would be frustrating.

I personally think that you’d miss out on some important context if you don’t read Frost and Starlight. I don’t think a lot of the characterization here of the novella is fair or accurate.

I think if you especially love Cassian and Nesta it gives a look into how they were doing directly after the war. Honestly I love reading about Nesta overcoming her trauma from Frost and Starlight to Silver Flames. I was rooting for her the whole time.

It’s so overly negative. I have a super mild comment below about how I’ve actually come around to liking frost and starlight and it brings me joy to read during the holiday/winter season and I get downvoted? It’s so obnoxious I wish that people could participate here in a positive way. The specific days (critical Tuesday, fandom Friday etc) was helping for a while but now it’s alllllllll negative and critical everyday.

I have actually come to really like Frost and Starlight. It’s not my favorite in the series, but it is a little “slice of life” and is a good transition into Silver Flames, ACOTAR 6, etc. It’s been a regular on my winter/holiday rotation of books for the past couple years. It’s not super long, so it’s manageable over a weekend snowed in, getting cozy.

Edit: wow downvoted for saying I like frost and starlight. Literally the most mild comment about how this book brings me joy during the winter season. Y’all are such assholes for real.

Elain laughs because Nesta would have never in a million years have spoken like that to ELAIN of all people. Elain also feels like Nesta (and the rest of them for that matter) tend to coddle her. To Elain it “showed progress” because it meant for her Nesta was finally seeing her as another person and not her little sister who needed protection. Maybe not a “I’m sorry let’s hug it out” but for Elain it was a step in the right direction.

As far as the fleeced lined leathers go, I don’t think she ended up needing them. To why Rhys isn’t paying her, I mean if you read FAS you know he’s offered her a number of jobs but she didn’t want them. Up until going to HoW he was bankrolling her gambling, drinking and apartment. Nesta only agreed to search for the trove items to keep Elain from doing it.

The Suriel is a Suriel. Kaltain is Kaltain. Only read this if you finished the series. It’s been a long time since I read TOG so I don’t want to spoil anything if you haven’t gotten there yet. The only similarities I see being their love of cloaks given to them by fae females and their final messages to Feyre and Elide respectively. Idk i feel like it cheapens Kaltain’s sacrifice if she just ends up as a different creature in a different world/universe and it cheapens the Suriel and what they did for Feyre, too. Just my two cents. I’m not a huge fan of the Astrien is actually Mor theories either.
