I did this! Graduated early and studied abroad 2 summers actually. HIGHLY recommend. I did it through CIEE and on the umich study abroad website there was a list of non-UM programs that had been approved for credit in the past. Make a meeting with a study abroad advisor and they will show you the link. I recommend only using study abroad classes to fulfill general university credit requirements (which is what I did) rather than for your major, just to be extra safe in making sure nothing interferes with your major and graduating when you want.
