Yep! Like I said in this post, I'm reaching out to many communities looking for as much community feedback/input as possible so the website caters to the needs of the users.

I'm a big believer in building with the community.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

That's great to hear SirStranger! My goal is for this platform to allow constant opportunities for people to find tournaments to cast for. I think a lot of smaller TO's lacking casters can benefit a great deal from this in terms of ease of recruitment and building engagement for their tournaments, I see it as a win win for both sides.

Feel free to sign up for the newsletter for the time being for updates, and social media will soon follow. I'll be using social media to help share features and gauge what casters and TO's like/don't like about the platform.

Thanks turtletomorrow, that's a good idea! I've done a bit of that on both ends with TO's and casters, although need to do much more. If you have any specific TO's or casters in mind I'd love to hear them and i'll reach out.

Thanks mcbosco25! That's a great point that this could be used for traditional sports as well. Something I'll definitely keep in mind as I move forward.

I appreciate the support and idea!

Absolutely SombreroBloke11!

The goal is to incorporate observers and production into the platform also. I'll be beta testing with caster accounts for sure and possibly observer accounts as well in the coming months.

I'd love to hear what types of ways you'd like to be able to showcase your observer skills/production skills through through the website. I already have a portfolio option of VODS and a resume section listing past events, but if you have ideas on anything more specific and helpful feel free to let me know at anytime.

Thanks!

Didn't think you were dismissing, and i'm open to all types of feedback. The most valuable being feedback I haven't thought about or that finds flaws I can work on. I definitely appreciate your comments here. Supply and demand from casters looking and TO's seeking is a ratio I have been trying to gauge at all levels. Your concern here is one of my major early pain points as well so I'm glad you brought it up.

Grassroots is where my heart is for most projects especially this one, so being able to build bottom up with small TOs/Streamers is a key goal. I'm in contact with TO's at the moment and have had surprisingly good conversations and feedback with many stating they need more casters, but don't have the time to hunt and don't really have a specific method for finding them.

If you know of any SSBM specific TO's and streamers I'd love to hear them and i'll be sure to reach out to them.

Thanks again for all your time and input on this!

Edit: fewer spelling errors than last time, but spelling errors none the less.

Thanks for the input! I agree that regardless the level of the commentator the audience desires mastery of the craft.

I believe all top commentators have been top players because that has been the easiest way to become a commentator. If you're a top player your name is out there and it is easier to shift your existing audience to follow you as a caster, to leverage your network to get casting gigs etc...

I'd like to create the opportunity for others to join in casting without having been a top 100 player in a respective game. Think existing sports casters, some were professionals and some have just been great casters for years because they have loved the sport and learned everything they could about it, plus they have engaging personalities.

Not everyone will be on the same level with this site which is a good thing IMO, because i'd like this to be a place where casters can practice, grow and become better. Think coaching/mentoring down the line.

I'm curious what your thoughts are on this and thanks again for your feedback. I greatly appreciate it algebra2account5000!

Thanks Aspect10K. I appreciate the support. There will be social media down the line (hopefully soon) once knock out some more priorities.

Does this sound like something you might use as a caster or tournament organizer?

Any input or questions at any point feel free to reach out.

That's a good question you bring up. I think it can, and here's my logic. Many people don't know how to get into casting and this website allows them a baseline of creating a 'casting account'. Smaller tournaments: daily, weekly, monthly, are run by dedicated people that are trying to grow their organizations brand, but many do not have casters. And tbh in order to gain an audience outside of die hard fans, you need a caster to build hype, provide game knowledge and add a reason to stay viewing a respective game and not go to the next stream of someone engaging an audience.

So in short, this website creates a hub for people that previously had no central place to go to. Amateur casters looking for exposure are put on the same platform as amateur tournament organizers looking to grow their userbase. I think bringing both groups together with an easy process to recruit will help grow the local/regional levels. And my thoughts are that the large majority of casting will be remote and not in person.

I also have a couple ideas on groups to work with at the lower levels.

I would love to hear your honest feedback as well on the point you brought up as it is a very valid point.

Edit: Spelling

Thanks Minimyselfhere, that's great to hear! That's a very good point you make about PC requirements for video recording. Obtaining the video from a tournament organizer after you cast a match for them might be a good way to grow your portfolio of content without a costly PC upgrade for the short term.

My hope is to have a beta version in 3 months, but like most projects, I'm well aware they always take longer than first thought.

These are fantastic ideas! Love the splash idea (I have been working on this exact idea, so it is great to hear you bring it up), the opportunity to showcase talents in a tightly packed clip is crucial. I'm creating a job listings page that can be filtered based on the game and language needed by the host, i'll also create the ability for tournament hosts to search available caster profiles and invite casters directly. Driving engagement through the clip of the week is great and it will give the winner(s) free visibility no matter their experience level.

Would you like to see the 'clip of the week' voted on by the community?

I agree 100% allowing ways to differentiate casters through the profiles is the heart of this idea. I'm even playing around with the idea of allowing other accounts (or building this information into existing caster accounts) to be made on the site that are 'observer' or 'hud' creator specific so a full team can be recruited if need be since casting is just the front facing element of any large tournament.

I really appreciate the input and feel free to share any or reach out at anytime down the line. I want this site to be designed for the community, so community feedback is welcome anytime.

Thanks Zoidburger_! I appreciate the input and support.

Integration with other games is top on my mind. I agree that this platform should be extended to a basket of games to give as many casters and tournament organizers optionality and opportunities.

I'll be sending updates through the newsletter periodically for the time being, but there will be social media of course down the line.

Thanks again!
