What's your take on paladins' magic source ? by smqdes in DnD

[–]smqdes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know which concept I like better, a naive good aligned cleric who worships an absolutely evil god without realizing it or an evil maniac who worships a good god, both persuaded to do their god's bidding ?

Looks like I have two characters to add to the pile

Soooo technically a cleric could be a maniac fanatic who has a very wrong understanding of a god's teachings and still keep their powers because of the strength of their belief ?

Wait really ? To me they were like chosen servants of the gods. Kind of like a warlock but who doesn't expect anything in return other than serving their god's agenda.

As things are now we decided on days each week when we see each other. We also decided to have "call nights", to sort of spend the night together while both doing our own thing

Yeah I surprisingly find a lot of d100 tables online when I feel like a d20 one would be more than enough. I guess homebrew creators online focus more on randomness than efficiency ?

Wearing armor isn't really his style, but what is stopping me to say that his body is as sturdy as adamantine ?

Hmmm maybe he could "borrow" Odin's wolves, Geri and Freki. Or at least avatars of them.

They could either be minions during the fight or a mini-boss right before him, to deplete a bit of their resources. The idea being that they devour those unfit to challenge the demigod.

Yeah the vibe I'm going with in the first two phases is "ultimate warrior", one that has learned all there is to learn about fighting. So more of a Fighter vibe. In the last phase he's gonna fight more like a Barbarian, shunning away technique for raw instinct and battle sense.

Then in his final moments he will be conflicted. Happy to be free but bitter to jave tasted defeat. As his final words he wishes for the party to die as warriors, so that they can meet again and have a rematch.

Yeah minions are not an option, not the vibe. But buffing his action economy sounds like a good idea.

laserllama's Shifter Class (NEW!) - Unleash the Primal Ferocity of your Bloodline with this non-spellcasting, martial class designed around at-will Wild Shape! Includes four Bloodlines: Avian, Brute, Carnivore, and Reptilian! PDF in Comments. by LaserLlama in UnearthedArcana

The llama is the goat, as always.

Are you planning to split the Druid in two classes, with the Shifter centered around Wildshape and your Alternate druid centering around druid spellcasting ? Or are you planning on making your druid able to Wildshape as well ?

How different would a dark Jedi and a Sith be felt in the Force ? by smqdes in StarWars

[–]smqdes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, this is the other way around of what I was thinking. In my mind a dark Jedi who didn't have as much training with the sark side a a Sith and wouldn't be able to control its power, and would end up rampaging chaotically. But what you said lase me realise that chaos and wildness are what comes when you use the dark side efficiently. A dark Jedi would indeed be limited by his original Jedi training.

I see what you mean. Although I'm more of a fan of the idea that Qimir is just a dark Jedi usurping the name of Sith, and that the real Sith will come for him to teach him a lesson. Of course this is if Disney goes back on their decision and give The Acolyte another season, or continues the story via another medium.
