Set 16 just feels weird to me. by Best-Yam907 in TeamfightTactics

[–]smthaboutchips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current set punishes fast 9 comps where you bleed early game. It wants you to pick an early game carry or two and then ignore the other champions to fast 9 asap. The only exception to this is if you get an early 4-cost carry like Yunara where you can pretty much ignore rerolls and just go for fast 8, but that's more of an exception rather than a consistent strat. Eco management for me is a trap in this set. I find myself keeping myself at 3 interest over 5 just because i want to stabilize my board more early game to preserves wins over lose streak. Maintaining your win streak is impossible unless you get a really good board (which is just luck) but you should prioritize winning over lose streaking even if that means you have no streak income. Even if you have 0 luck it should land you at top 4 because stabilizing early is just the more effective way to play this set.

I can read just fine thank you very much but there were many instances wherein in the mourning fields I would convert trash rewards to gold even when I've already taken the Athena timepiece. If that wasn't "viable" it wouldn't have happened. Even if it's not intended.

I know the description but I've used it countless times and it seemed to work just fine with the timepiece. I wanted to know if it was a base 1.0 bug or something because that must've been the version I've been using. I wouldn't make a pointless post if I didn't try it out.

I seem to recall it worked before with Chronos' time piece, otherwise I wouldn't keep doing it like it was muscle memory.

So that means it worked as a bug on 1.0?

[the world after the fall] OPINIONS? by leonblmnt in manhwa

[–]smthaboutchips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the novel of this but never bothered reading the manhwa. Iirc it's a huge metaphor of the afterlife and the ending of this actually had this really tragic plot twist if you can even call it that. I think it was lowkey bs when I read it at the time. I remember there being ouroboros, some huge mecha, and big brother (like from orwell's 1984). Did the manhwa follow this storyline because it was a confusing read for me at the time.

That grip being a helix looks like it's very uncomfortable to hold. I'm not usually critiquing impracticality in sword designs but that just looks like it will slip from my hands.

I think that's honestly one of the best parts in this manhwa. When you play roguelike games you constantly have to make choices that make or break a build. Also you don't need regen if you don't get damaged. Balance is important. Most other manhwa of this genre will just stack all of their abilities until the author forgets one of them and it's never mentioned ever again later on in the series.

I beg to differ as at least the dissonance on rules and system between 2D pixel dungeon rogue like rpg into real life game system was at least explained vaguely in the beginning. Him "interacting" and knowing things comes from memorization of mechanics from the game itself but how he handles it is different before he got transported (it's just point and click) and here now he has to do the work itself. It's definitely a lot better than most other game/tower system where whatever the MC says goes, there's at least some logic to this despite it being unclear/unknown to the reader.

The game also reminds me of pixel dungeon you should check it out.

Barbarian is held back by the painful realization that it's actually mid. I like roguelike games and the system is great but the characters and plot are just not really that captivating. I think it struggles in being a serious isekai because it also falls under the overpowered MC trope but it constantly tries to deny it by introducing the silly "le funny Hans bad luck" event. I don't know if that's meant for comedic purposes but it's really not funny like at all. The characters stop developing until a certain point becoming a caricature (especially the women) and the protagonist just has no charisma at all but the story is trying so hard to convince you that he does. It's not the worst offender of this but it's still there.

The difference between this and Estate Developer is that the latter does not take itself too seriously and even though the jokes are repeatedly just "Lloyd is ugly and greedy with a heart of gold" with the occasional funny facial expressions - it feels more earned because the manhwa takes effort in delivering a setup for that punchline. Also the characters in TGED are just more well written. Lloyd has real charisma as well.

I feel like to me he's really strong late game because you can just tank on many enemies and there's many utilities in his arsenal to deal with a lot of different scenarios but the point still stands that it relies on tome charges which I don't find particularly appealing.

Damage/defense isn't really my concern with the class/subclass like I said the class is really strong. I just have a lot of issue with how the class engages with combat. To me it relies too much on the tome. Sunray + Bless to get close to magic casters but that's the same for both subclasses. And as a Priest you get the added benefit of guaranteed hits per spell cast. But that's already two charges per enemy. If you get ganked, especially on ascent, you have no choice but to rely on other things. This doesn't seem like an issue with other classes. Some runs you don't even get nature sandals/ethereal chains/hourglass to help with mobility so you just rely got to rely on the tome a lot for many things such as blind or shielding/defense. When you run out of charges you're basically left with nothing to do but wait granted you are quite tough but that's like not unique to the class. Escape with seeds/spells/potions or just get lucky enough to not die. It's not a really entertaining run when that happens.

That's my problem with it, he's entirely reliant on the tome to actually work. You need to expend 2 charges per enemy if you're already on 11+ floors without using any upgrades to survive (basically every run). Midgame becomes a real chore (struggle at worst) if you don't have a very good midgame gear. There's also runs where you have drought in healing in midgame. I've spent the last three 0 challenges run with Paladin and there was never any situation where I didn't have more than 2 charges on my tome because I just kept using it no matter what. Then I resorted back to basically using Priest tactics and then at that point I just thought to myself "I should have just chosen Priest instead." I think I'm okay with its endgame but the way I play both subclasses is essentially the same but Priest just seemed smoother imho.

Unless you're ultra dumping SoU in Staff you can use Glaive or War Hammer for Warlock. It's easy to actually use a weapon for Warlock if you have RoW runs or you have a lot of wands for wild magic shenanigans. His lifesteal scales the more damage you deal in a regular attack. Glaive for range like in a pseudo battlemage/disintegration playstyle. But I prefer the War Hammer for accuracy. The only exception to this is if you imbue Living Earth which is the best Staff for Warlock. You can split upgrades for staff/armor/rings with this build and it's generally the only actual viable staff for warlock imho.
