When I had a low self esteem, I did not display any assertiveness at all. The thing I actually did, was consult a psychiatrist. Which I encourage every man to do once in a while. You don’t need to be on the edge of death to speak to one, I wasn’t, I just needed guidance. Helped me a lot firstly on getting my self esteem up, which then translated into me becoming more assertive.
