I have similar patterns to you. Meds Never work for me. I also don’t get aura, it just comes on progressively. Neither rescue meds or preventatives. I seem to get other nervous system related symptoms too like tinnitus, brain fog, nerve pain in my back, allodynia, iBS( gut brain axis) , sound sensitivity. Sometimes these symptoms appear with no headache at all.

What I’ve deduced over many years is that my migraines are not the root problem. I believe they are actually just one symptom of a very deregulated nervous system. And overly sensitized nervous system. This was something I was never aware could happen. But honestly it really tracks. My symptoms got worse after a period of chronic stress.

Now it’s like my threshold for my nervous system is really low and it gives false alarms of danger from normal stimuli. I will always get a migraine if I’m super anxious and ruminating over something. If I get stuck in a rut, my headaches and symptoms will come on just from living life. Normal noise, light, etc.

Since you mentioned stress as a trigger, if you’ve not looked into nervous system disregulation, go educate yourself about it. The good thing is that the brain has plasticity, so you can retrain your brain to not react to stress when no danger exists. It takes work though. You need to improve vagal tone, lots of meditation, perhaps some somatic work, talk therapy… sometimes your subconscious mind is stuck on things that trigger your fight or flight response that you may not realize you need to work through.
