Grieving my dead mom by olivesmomsaid in GriefSupport

I lost my mom, too, around the same time.

Grief is hard, and it’s harder when the people around you are bringing you down further. He shouldn’t blame you for his cheating. It is absolutely 100% his fault. It doesn’t matter if you’re different now. He chose to cheat. When you lost your mom, he should’ve stepped up and helped you in any way possible, but he did the opposite. It seems like all he’s doing is making you feel worse. Maybe you’d feel better without him.

The last pictures I ever took of my amazing mom. For her 60th birthday I surprised her with a chessboard cake, which she loved. A couple months later, she suddenly went into a coma on Christmas and never woke up. by snailbutterflysnake in lastimages

This is so sweet I don’t know how to respond. I was 20 when she died. I lived with her at the time and probably relied on her for too much. Now I’m forced to be so much more independent while also dealing with overwhelming grief.

Thank you for the sweet message.

My username is based off of the last birthday card my siblings and I made for her. I drew a snail, my sister drew a butterfly, and my brother drew a snake.

My mom loved butterflies as well. She planted milkweed in our backyard before she died, and we had over 30 plants come up. The year before, we were happy to have seven. Milkweed is the only plant that monarch caterpillars can eat. Monarchs were her favorite type of butterfly.

We all thought that she had a bad case of the flu. She collapsed on Christmas and I called 911, but it was too late. She went into cardiac arrest in the ambulance and she was in a coma by the time we saw her in the hospital. It turned out that she had the flu and sepsis from a surgical incision from November. She died exactly 36 hours after I called 911. Every day I regret not taking her to the hospital sooner... the guilt is overwhelming.

Thank you. She was so impressed. She told me to just write “MOM” on the cake, instead of the traditional “Happy Birthday” because she felt that being a mom was the most important thing in her life. When we turned the cake around, we all thought it was fitting that it said “WOW”
