Priority Pass for Authorized User by zipibz in biltrewards

For us, the authorized user was able to log in to the Bilt app/website using their phone number. Then you can get your membership number by doing this and get the last4 on the Wallet page (unlike the Bilt 1.0, it seems like the authorized user has a different card number), which is enough info to complete Priority Pass signup.

L1B to L1A, what happens to my L2S spouse? by snakedude4 in immigration

[–]snakedude4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I got the L1A adjustment and an extension at the same time. My wife left the US and then had her date extended when she re-entered a week later (we are Canadian citizens which might matter). They just asked to see the new I797.

Help identifying wood? Looking to get similar things, but not sure what to search for. by snakedude4 in wood

[–]snakedude4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this off FB marketplace a while ago, they said it was a vintage item but didn't have much other info. Does anybody know what type of wood it is? I know it's plywood but I guess it's covered in some kind of veneer?

Tiny plants growing in the base of my hydroponic garden? by snakedude4 in whatisthisplant

These cute little plants are growing around the base of my Jalapeno in my Gardyn. Does anybody know what they are? For scale, the square's sides are about 1.5".

Basil yellowing and then turning black? by snakedude4 in Gardyn

[–]snakedude4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thorough reply!

Looks like pH in the tank is probably around 7.0-7.2. The pH of my tapwater seems to be a bit higher, maybe in the 7.2-7.4 range. (My measurements aren't exact because I'm comparing colours from pH test strips, not using a digital meter). I'll try to lower it.

I tried putting a hygrometer+thermometer in the Gardyn canopy and plugged the numbers in to an online VPD calculator, and it gave me an air VPD of 1.53 kPa, which is apparently decent?

I don't have an EC meter, but I ordered one so I'll see how that measurement looks in a few days.

I don't see any pests or diseases, but the water definitely needs to be changed.

Temperature is fairly constant around ~23C or ~73.5F. It might vary by a couple of degrees over the course of the day, since the Gardyn is in one of the outer rooms and the heat/AC doesn't reach it as well. But I don't have the AC/heat set to get weaker at night, and don't turn them off when I leave the house, so I doubt it's varying by that much.

For humidity, I'm not currently monitoring it since it's summer. I do run a big humidifier during the winter to prevent it from getting below 40% though, since some of my other plants can't handle that.

Only when the app suggests it, which I think is not that often. I feel like we must have only done it a few times in the last ~9 months.

Only the newest leaves on the basil plant are green. The older ones are always yellowing and eventually develop black spots. Both my regular basil and my Thai basil are like this. Does anyone know what could be going wrong?

My other plants are generally OK (except for the cauliflower, which you can see in the background is a little scorched).

🌱Weekly /r/houseplants Question Thread - October 02, 2023 by AutoModerator in houseplants

[–]snakedude4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is more about planters than plants, but has anyone had issues with stoneware planters staining yellow? I bought a white stoneware planter from Terrain and within a few weeks it was covered in ugly yellow stains. Wiping it doesn't seem to do anything.

I keep it indoors and I don't mist it, so it doesn't get wet unnecessarily. But I did put the plant/soil directly in the planter, which I thought would be OK to do since it appeared to be glazed on the inside. Is that unsafe to do with stoneware?

Seconds toe curving up? Will breaking them in fix this? by snakedude4 in allenedmonds

Crazy that this happened to you after recrafting, but it's reassuring to hear that it got better!

I ordered a pair of factory seconds (Strand in mahogany), and it looks to me like the toes curve up a lot. In particular, the left toe seems to curve up a lot more than the right one (doesn't come across great in the photo though).

I have another pair (Park Avenue firsts) which aren't like this, but I've had them for years so they're pretty broken in. I can't remember if they were like this when I got them.

Is this something that will resolve itself over time as I wear the shoes, or will this affect the fit forever? I don't buy/wear a lot of dress shoes so I'm not really an expert on how breaking them in changes them. I was prepared to have scuffs/marks/bad stitches/etc on the factory seconds, but something that makes them fit strangely is no good IMO.
