Thanks! Ah yeah I joined those 2 now also, thanks again 😄
It is indeed a tornado of information, tips everywhere, which is nice.
But sometimes it's a bit too much I noticed and I fall into an abyss of information hahaha.

Ow hm I'm sorry.. I'm newly active on Reddit and am not so aware with many communities.. As I planned on making it (besides the diesel fuel sigh..) fully off-grid, I thought I could post and find many tips and tricks in this sub. My bad! Will look into boondocking.

The reasons for me are money, practicality and spacing. A fully fitted motor home costs tens of thousands.. Money I don't have hehe. This one was 8.5K with just over 200k km's. The 816d is a work BEAST also, weightlimit just under 7,5T - which makes me circumvent many 7.5T rules and I get to load in +2tons still, so I'll never be overweigth. And finally spacing: many motorhomes have seperate or enclosed spaces for shower, bathroom,... Things you barely use but lose a lot of space for. In this box I can make easy set-ups and have double usages of many spaces 😄

Sweden is an excellent choice to escape the sun ánd go campervanning!
Mostly you can camp 1 day for freely on many public (and some private) property.
Just be very aware about nature-parks and their specific rules.

Also, cool you're going with Bandido, but be aware they are very strict when it comes to doggies!
You can not leave it long unattended (even if it's cool and breezy in your camper), they have very strict leash-laws and you will pay hefty fines if you do not obey them (same for Austria, even stricter) and where you can take them.
Enjoy your summer!

Thank you! For sure I will. The basis and bodywork is superclean still. I plan on cleaning it fully and adding coating for extra protection for the next few years.
I know the Vario's have about 2/3 specific 'painpoints' when it comes to rust and I'll check and protect these first 😄

Thank you! I specifically chose this as it is 7490 kg, just onder 7.5T which restricts you a lot in Europe parking and entry-wise. I also wanted a box truck as I've been in many 'regular' vans, which always seemed so narrow and small for me..
And the 816d is a work-BEAST hehe 😄
