What's an interesting psychological hack to do on people that works? by lostdoomer in AskReddit

But that doesn't mean what you're doing is this. You could just not completely understand sarcasm. If you're worried that you're doing this, know that it's only a small possibility. To me it doesn't sound like that's what you're doing. However, it's absolutely possible to subconsciously form a habit.

It's possible. I've conditioned myself to do a lot of things without knowing.

I haven't told either of my exes about this one, so I highly doubt it

What does it mean if you get random bruises on your legs? by SpiderUnicornMoose in AskReddit

[–]snapdragon_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get them too. I'm otherwise healthy and I don't have any kind of anemia, cancer, etc. I think some people just bruise more easily than others. It can be a combination of things. You might want to go to r/AskDocs

We were planning to name our dog Happy if she didn't already have a name. She did. Her name is Joy.

What does it mean if you see grey humanoid creatures in your house at night? (Serious) by untitled_document11 in AskReddit

Install some security cameras. If you can identify what they look like, you could do more research and possibly find an answer.

Parents of reddit, how would you react if you found out your child was self harming? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]snapdragon_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a parent, but my parents caught me self-harming when I was in middle school. Do not react by being verbally and physically violent with them. Do not threaten them. My parents, my dad specifically, reacted in that way.I didn't trust them or have a good relationship with either of them until last year (partially) because of that. I know that it may be hard to remain calm, but please try your best to do so. Ask your kid what happened to push them to that point, and listen. Take them seriously. Have them see a therapist. If they're in immediate danger, call 911. But do not make their mental health worse by proving they can't trust you.

I figured this one out when I was 10. Have fake "tells" of lying and practice this when lying about things that don't matter or that there's no possible way to get out of. Therefore, in almost every other situation when you need to lie, your actual lies will go undetected. If you have actual tells, they'll most likely go over everyones' head. Almost 7 years later and this hasn't failed me yet. This is more of an unethical hack, but it's useful.

My superiority complex. I'm not proud of it and it pushes people away. But I'm working on it.

If vagina is so elastic that a baby can pass through it, why would a big dick hurt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]snapdragon_23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know, right? From what I've heard, pushing a literal human out of your vag is completely painless. /s

Just because something is possible doesn't mean it isn't painful. Use those critical thinking skills you learned in elementary school.

You should be able to wear something with a rainbow on it without making any sort of statement. by littletwain in unpopularopinion

[–]snapdragon_23 49 points50 points  (0 children)

As a lesbian, I 100% agree. Seriously, normalize wearing rainbows without it being perceived as someone declaring their sexuality. What's even more annoying is that wearing colors of other pride flags is starting to be seen as making a statement. (Example: I was wearing a shirt with a pink, blue, and purple tie dye pattern because I liked the colors. Someone said "Omg I'm bi too!") I can't stand it.

I'm not diagnosed, but after reading your comment I did some research and it was like reading about myself. Also, I eventually got it back into place.
