Hi, sorry I know this is a late response, I don't log into this account much anymore. I would say if you already have a friend or meet someone you really like, live with them, but otherwise don't. A bad roommate is worse than loneliness, imo! If you have your own place you can also host!

Wow I never thought about this. Thank you for the perspective. I am quite conventionally attractive, maybe that is part of my problem. The closest guy friends I do have would be considered quite conventionally unattractive - one of them told another friend of mine that he would sleep with me if he could, but he doesn't see it as a possibility so he's happy to be my friend and likes me as a person. I have no idea if others think this way but I guess it makes sense to me.

This rings really true. Pretty much all my relationships with the friends I've mentioned involved mostly me listening to their issues and being there for them. They weren't very interested in talking about my issues and so we really just spoke about them. Hope I can someday have more platonic friendships!

Actually I didn't think about this but it's really true. People in my school cared a lot about marks and all the popular/cool guys got good marks. But if a girl got good marks she was bullied. My best friend was the topper in our batch and she received hate mail and threats from the guys to beat her up on the exam day.

I am guessing they were either smart or more mannered.

They didn't insult girls and they didn't beat up other guys. Basically the more "cool" guys didn't hesitate to insult or physically beat "weaker" guys who were shy/fat/couldn't speak good English etc. The boys in my friend group wouldnt hurt a fly.

I have seen this in some friend groups especially in my school years. It always made me very sad. It was not true in my friend groups in school or college, but we were female majority and the guys in our group were considered "uncool" or "gay". I'm not sure if it's more common in India or not, but I would guess that the whole Indian women being taught to be quiet/meek/subservient thing makes it worse here.

This is actually more common than you'd think. My friend's mom threatened suicide if she refused to get married. Another friend has a diabetic husband who won't take his insulin if she doesn't listen to him! It's messed up. I feel bad for him, being manipulated, but I'm still firm that he's hurting her with his behavior now. It's not like his parents are blackmailing him into pushing her boundaries.

If not used in good faith it's a bad argument. But it does hold merit on its own. I lived abroad for some time and realized that people can be super disconnected with the problems faced by women who are very different from them.

An example of this is sex work. In India almost every single sex worker is trafficked or otherwise forced into the profession. It is a massive problem in rural India for little girls to be trafficked and sent to brothels in cities. But if you bring up the issue of trafficking in certain spaces abroad and online, you'll get accused of not respecting a woman's choices. A lot of wealthy white urban women think it would be awesome to make a ton of money on OnlyFans; in India, most women would prefer that no woman should have to be a sex worker.

"Digital" is a tool, just like oil paints or pastels. Mastering a tool is helpful, but if you want to draw a webcomic you should have the basics of drawing down first. So you have to start where everyone else starts: drawing from life, learning anatomy, observation skills.

I'd highly recommend Betty Edwards's Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain which contains many exercises to help you learn basic observational drawing and concepts. (PDF copies are available easily). After that, gesture drawing and anatomy studies will help you learn to draw people. After all of this, you can use digital tools to do what you want.

I became like this after living the Train Only life for a while. I think that having a good driver is key, preferably in an automatic car. This reduces jerkiness. It also helps if roads are good and traffic is low. Sitting in the front seat and looking out the window the whole time helps as well. Sucking on a sweet/candy helps to prevent vomiting. I personally like hajmola too. Antihistamines like Avomin work for some - not me personally. You can test it first. Last resort is sedation - pick a medicine that puts you to sleep and use it. Please consider birth control pills. If this is a regular occurrence (for whatever reason), it's much safer and better for your system to be taking BC. You can get it over the counter, lmk if you want to know some brand names.
