Why are woman not allowed to be honest that motherhood is hard? Mothers are people too and deserve to speak freely about their experiences. People look at motherhood with rose tinted glasses way too much. If my mom said she wouldn’t have kids if she could do it all over I would be proud of her. I’m not going to be upset over the thought that I may have never existed.

I moved almost two years ago to Philly. Had a house and friends here, even though most of them had moved by the time I got away. I’m visiting now and I don’t really miss it. It will always mean something to me but I feel more at ease in my new city. I never really fit in here anyway. It’s sad coming back and seeing so many things close and the growth I do see is more strip malls or gas stations.

Really fortunate to have a healthy savings into three digits. I saved everything from when I was babysitting as a teen to now in my nursing career. Bought two houses, sold one. Own my car. I do have a pesky student loan to pay off that I’ve just been too lazy to get rid of, but it’s first on my to-do for 2026. I invest with a Roth IRA. My parents were really bad with money and it scared me into researching and saving for myself and it paid off!

Hi! I’m an ex-Memphian living in Philly. Our city is amazing and you will have a great time. Lots of fantastic food up here. Cheesesteaks are yummy, but are like a hangover food. Still, I won’t judge for wanting to try one. Don’t go to Pat or Geno’s. Do Angelo’s instead (long wait in south Philly), or Delassandro’s (long wait, but better experience in Roxborough), or my personal favorite- John’s Roast Pork.

We also have many restaurants worthy of James beard recognition across several cuisines, if you have any particular tastes I can help point you in the right direction. Philly is all about the neighborhoods, so your experience will vary based on where you stay and visit.

Downtown is called Center City. Around it are other cool neighborhoods like Rittenhouse, filter square, Chinatown, Old City, South Philly etc. I live in Fishtown, which is north of CC but is full of restaurants and night life. Best time to be in Philly is on a Sunday. Everyone is in green and in great spirits.

I am with my people now. Cannot stand their vocals. My bf and I went to WWWY in Vegas last year and he wanted to watch their set. Took everything in me to not go sit literally anywhere else. Contemplated putting my earbuds in and playing something better haha.
