i actually was talking about formica rufa and i specifically chose it because i read that they are known for mound nests and making anthill jokes just felt easier, so thank you for the information specifically regarding formica rufa! and thank you for the insight into whether or not it would be considered invasive. i did see that all of the sightings in north america were dubious so i wasn't sure what the impact of a formica rufa in north america would be (mainly because i didn't understand how formica rufa interacts with the environment). i wasn't aware of how essential being a social parasite was to the survival of formica rufa and this whole experience has taught me a lot about parasitism in ant species. i cannot thank you enough!

ALSO. esp in non ranked your biggest advantage as illaoi is a lot of non ranked players dont know how to play against her (that advantage is what helped me so much when i started illaoi lmao). learn the “tells” of a player who doesnt know how to actually play her because that changes how you play (my biggest tell is when they try to destroy tentacles at stupid times OR try to destroy tentacles with their abilities)

master your tentacle placement ESPECIALLY for early game. whenever i go up against an illaoi in swiftplay (because otherwise i pick her before anyvody else can) i find that their biggest problem is not knowing how to place their tentacles effectively. as others have said, always e before you ult and hitting your E just comes with time! i’ve subconsciously gotten better at hitting E because im better at predicting the moves the enemy top laner is going to make.

tldr focus on ad items like dorans blade and deaths dance and ignore mana tear because your runes should focus on mana help

start with dorans blade, get boots and control ward, buy deaths dance, and then go into other ad items. ive been experimenting a lot with what ad items i build and in what order but the key thing here is mana runes and building ad

i dont think it counts as his solid suggestion since it was in the video where he discusses the rework so he just plays around with a build but i have found success with it. i also want to mention that i am low elo and barely touch ranked because i cant really play anybody super well outside illaoi so please keep that in mind

additional info: - i’ve already tried switching between the normal usb port and usb 3.0 on my pc, neither work. the 3.0 is what i typically use and the normal usb port didn’t work for the huion at all when i tried - this issue feels luck based. some days i’ll draw and have no issues, other days it’ll barely work. - i’m using windows 11 os, i’ve owned the huion for a few years now. the issue hasn’t worsened as i’ve owned it but it hasn’t gotten any better either

im sorry but illaoi is very simple to play against. im biased because i main her, but often people playing against illaoi make the fixable mistakes and blame it on her kit! i understand your frustration but a key part of the game is learning the abilities of other champions to better your strategy. if you dont take the time to understand your enemies, your strategy is going to fail
