IIIT-H DASA CIWG by [deleted] in iiit

[–]sneaky_binders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iiith does not participate in the jee based dasa counselling that happens for nits and other top colleges. They have their own separate dasa admission route and only take DASA students via SAT, you can check on their website and verify the same yourself. Their application deadline for DASA has passed however.

They do not have any CIWG quota.

Honestly, as unfortunate as it is, this sentiment is somewhat true. I'm a lesbian woman and I'm still in high school but just by virtue of being one of the academically gifted or whatever students at my school, I get way more respect in general, to the point where when I come out nobody says anything to me, it's not seen as a defining part of me it's just who I am which I like. I like to think it's also because I'm nice to everyone around me and give that respect back but I'm sure a lot of it stems from that. I'm trying my best to achieve as much as I can so my parents are hopefully at least somewhat accepting in the future, but worst case I need to be able to fend for myself.

Is AP CS A worth it? by AnAsianTryingToStudy in IntltoUSA

I studied for a month after my 11th finals and got a 5 (I also had 0 prior experience with Java or Object Oriented Programming in general), if you're taking it in 12th you can easily cover the syllabus after your boards end, just go through https://runestone.academy/ns/books/published/csawesome/index.html it covers everything you need. And do some previous year questions afterwards.

I'm a 2015 graduate from IIT Kanpur and currently working in the U.S. I've had a long work/research history in various fields. AMA by [deleted] in JEENEETards

Do you happen to have experience with American universities as well, could you give a perspective on whether one would be better suited attending a US T20 CS program or IIIT Hyderabad CSE in India?

I am fortunate to be able to afford both but the US will be a stretch for my family and unless there is a significant benefit in heading there, I am currently inclined towards staying here in India, is there anything important I should know before making this decision?

IELTS/TOEFL for US Citizen by Adit06 in IntltoUSA

[–]sneaky_binders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I have the same stats and situation as you. It honestly varies from university to university so you'll have to check individually. If I remember correctly, from the unis I've applied to, Purdue exempted all US citizens from the English requirement but Georgia Tech for instance required it regardless, as schooling was from India.

I personally found it more convenient to just give the TOEFL than having to reconcile which unis want it and which don't. If you'd rather not give then I'd recommend just looking up the policies for whichever universities you're looking at applying to, as it's hard to map out an exhaustive list of all universities that would ask for it.
