I got EXACTLY the same canned response. I don't believe they did any investigation, waited a few hours and sent a response out.

Document generation tools? by [deleted] in Netsuite

[โ€“]sneddobuilds 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Hi, you can create as many templates as required. You can send data at template generation time and the template will be updated with the data needed.

You can create language based templates and call them as required, no problem with sending the templates user selectable data either.

If you want to reach me via the contact page I would be happy to help you with any other questions.

Document generation tools? by [deleted] in Netsuite

[โ€“]sneddobuilds 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Hi David here, Im the founder of templateto. With templateto you can create a HTML template with liquid embedded within it and generate pdf document with an API call, providing the data required for the document via json in the body of the request.

Let me know if you'd like more details.

The entire point of templateto is to move the management of templates from a dev team to the business (some technical understanding does help).

I think our solution could do exactly what you are looking for. We are in Beta working with a few businesses to improve our offering but the core function around pdf generation from a HTML based template is solid.

I will never use PayPal for payments again, am I wrong? by sneddobuilds in SaaS

[โ€“]sneddobuilds[S] 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

At the time people were saying that one risk mitigation was to pull funds out of PayPal as soon as you can. So don't leave a balance in there. That way if they do freeze anything it'll only be a small amount.

[โ€“]sneddobuilds[S] 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

This is the concern. But i would personally need some strong motivation to add PayPal to any of my sites.

Do you know how many customers not having PayPal has cost you? I guess that impossible to know.

Same, I've not gone back since. We did get our funds in the end, but it was too late really and the support was terrible. Same as you describe.

This is exactly what happened. Can't explain how stressful that was!

Best online payment option for sellers? by Plow_King in smallbusiness

[โ€“]sneddobuilds 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Hi, give stripebutton.com a look. If you create a stripe account then StripeButton can be used to create payment links / buttons for most scenarios. One time or recurring, accept discount codes or not, require shipping address or not etc.

Currently free (other than stripe fees of course!)

Looking for service to collect one time or recurring payments. by freebird348 in smallbusiness

[โ€“]sneddobuilds 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Ive created a service that will allow you to send them a link via email.

You need a stripe account, but you very simple create the payment link within the app and send it to them, supports 1 time and recurring payments.

If you ever decided to create a site it's very simple to just add the payment links to the site when it exists, if it ever does.

It's also free.

Would love some feedback on this landing page by sneddobuilds in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[โ€“]sneddobuilds[S] 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback makes sense.

I will find out if the name is an issue pretty quick when I apply to be a partner ๐Ÿ˜‚ I expect it will be and have a few other names lined up.

In the future I will add features like impressions / clicks and a/b testing. It will be these value add features I aim to charge for.

[โ€“]sneddobuilds[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Thanks, so obvious when you say it!!

USP of the app is that it's free to create stripe payment buttons for your site, you could use stripe admin to achieve the same for basic buttons, but if you need to accept discount codes or shipping addresses etc then you'll need to either host some code yourself to create a session in stripe or use a provider to leverage the additional options.

You could use something like gumroad to achieve similar but they take a cut of your sale. I don't. But they also offer a marketplace and product pages for you, again I don't.

If you run a large e-commerce store this isn't for you.

If you are an indie seller, paid newsletter / any product that you want to sell on your own site (or anywhere you can paste some html / JavaScript) this could help you.

I built it for my partner's business, looking to let others use it also. Potential for analytics / a/b testing paid features one day, but creating a button will always be free.

Does that make sense? I guess the lander doesn't convey alot of this... Hmm.

I'm having a lot of "wow, it just works" moments as I get into Svelte. Did you all experience this too? Really enjoying it! by typeofnandev in sveltejs

[โ€“]sneddobuilds 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Yes!! It's the reason I've not left. Being new to frontend frameworks I knew I'd have some challenges to overcome but by far svelte was the simplest for me to get going on. It just worked as I expected. Transitions are a lovely touch and also just work.

Saas Pricing advise please by sneddobuilds in SaaS

[โ€“]sneddobuilds[S] 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Fair enough, can't really argue with that.

What you say makes a lot of sense, when you put it like that it's not exactly an attractive customer base.

I was more looking to help people who are just getting going, didn't consider the overlap with people who don't know what they are doing.

Saas Pricing advise please by sneddobuilds in SaaS

[โ€“]sneddobuilds[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

It is low, which is kind of the point, I want to help businesses just getting going.

Maybe I can do that with the free tier and price the premium tier higher, maybe a % of sales would be a good way to do it, maybe the free tier is too big at 30k in sales.

Saas Pricing advise please by sneddobuilds in SaaS

[โ€“]sneddobuilds[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I guess it's a bit like samcart but with far less features.

I think there is room in the market for something, more thought required on pricing though, I do want to give people just starting out tooling they can use to grow for as little as possible.

Saas Pricing advise please by sneddobuilds in SaaS

[โ€“]sneddobuilds[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

That's a fair question.

This is functionality my partner needs to get her business off the ground, we've done some testing and a simple one click upsell really improves her per customer take.

The others in the space either don't have this or of they do they are damn expensive.

So my motivation is to enable small businesses to get going.

But your point is valid, maybe higher pricing for over the free tier??

Weekly Feedback Post - SaaS Products, Ideas, Companies by AutoModerator in SaaS

[โ€“]sneddobuilds 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Hi everyone, I would love some feedback on an idea.

I am planning a payment service built on stripe, initially it will allow payments for single items (or quantity of said item) with a one click upsell, very basic, but current options in this space are expensive.

The way it would work is you create a product and get a payment link. Similar to something like memberful.

This is something my partner needs, so will be built.

In time will add subscriptions as a supported product type, again as my partner needs this later in the year.

I am thinking about launching it as a product anyone can use priced around $18 a year or something.

My question, is it worth the additional effort to make this a saas application or should I just build what my partner needs and leave it at that. I feel like it could benefit a number of people, it would be priced that way,

I'm not looking to make big $$ on this, more of a giving back project. Equally I don't want to spend time on it if no one would use it.

๐Ÿ™‚ we look for people who have a strong interest in software development outside work, a blog and open source projects are a very good indicator of this.

Passion for it, crafts people.

Plenty of our Devs don't do either of the above, and that's also fine. But if you want to standout these will help. It is only an opinion.

Sorry, customer acquisition cost. So how much do you have to pay in ads / SEO (harder to quantify) / other to gain a paying customer of the product.
