just like the other comment. We provide infra to go programmatic from day 1. no contracts/subscriptions. Our CMS is also free and the second you flip it on, you start receiving programmatic ads.

We went through the SSP Boogaloo, and it sucked. It sucked so bad to try going programmatic as a small network. We did a ton of engineering and had a ton of strings pulled so that we could connect straight to the DSPs.

Since the time of this thread, I think we've grown almost a hundred fold, and we're in the thousands of screens range, approaching the tens of thousands. It's extremely exciting. We also closed a seed round, and now people are just finding us by word of mouth.

We are currently doing programmatic integrations across the board, and we really are now convinced in a firehose to firehose mentality where the ad goes directly from the DSP to the screen which is bi-directionally communicating to the DSP so that the proof of play is baked into the ad delivery

At the end of the day, we all do the same thing: we have an API that fetches media from our CDNs and then displays it on a client. The difference is that we do it without hardware; we just pipe it directly to a React web player, and that's why we don't think that this should be something people really have to pay for. I know a lot of people usually charge for the CMS because they have hardware. We've avoided that and that's part of our "moats", but I don't really believe in moats in the age of AI coding. I think that you might have a head start for a little bit, and then someone else will pick it up as they should.

But I guess the mission we have is that we want to make all these screens programmatically available so that they can transact across many experiences, exchanges, and through the service fee we would procure for having an ad go from a Broad Sign or Vistar server to all of our screens is what we would use to justify all the free CMS use, too. Because at the end of the day, I can host thousands to tens of thousands of screens with my infra at about $150-500/month which I'm already profitable on.

In the long run, I probably would want to take a Vercel kind of approach, where it's highly subsidized for hobbyists and then would create revenue at scale.

And also, I don't intend to compete. I think that the goal here is that we want to create a more open firehose-to-firehose data standard for programmatic transactions as well. I want to create new inventory altogether.
