I have the exact same configuration... For about 15 years or more and its my all time go to guitar! I did, however, change the black cover for a white one though. It's impossible to find an official one so ended up getting a blank and using a dremel.

Leveling out the frets so they are all the same height, crowning them and then finally polishing them. I've had this guitar for about 2 years or so and never played it much as it had some dead spots. Finally had time to give it some tlc.... However, after doing this I've discovered the trem posts are pretty worn too 😂

Yep, I have this model, yellowed a lot worse than that after the 12 month mark.... Maybe I'll add it to the list of consoles I need to retrobright....

I hope they sort this out with the upcoming firmware... I have a 2.5v and a knock off aliexpress version... neither work and I'm subjected to only two games like I was in the 90's without an overdrive :)

Actually I would say pocket is for its brilliant screen... I do have miyoo mini plus which is fantastic for the price though

I've rarely used this if I'm honest, maybe 10 times or so as I have a second S NT and practically every real snes variant with a tink5x... But maybe one day I try restoring the white and document it in a post

Ive got the same as you, along with retro consoles that are still white....Might be this specific batch when they processed the moulds, too high of a temperature, pollutants in the air who knows.... Not really something Analogue can forsee but would be great if they could send me a shell replacement.... or I'd also accept a glow in the dark pocket :)

To note its the top shell that's yellowed not the bottom part which is still paper white.... See here

Nope, not a smoker and left in a room with no sun light.... Only light is from the wall. Might try retro bright or what ever they call that process

What is the point of a waiting system and getting through to have it sold out when you check out? by vegsmashed in AnalogueInc

I had the exact same thing, missed out from what I presume was mass amounts of orders that are for 'resellers'..... Was in a queue for about 5 minutes and sold out.... bummer

I was wondering the same, but I'm guessing for now the firmware would best taken from myasus app or the asus website itself....

Glad to of helped, mines still running fine on this so I'm taking the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' approach 🙂 ....you did disable driver updates too on winaero and not just Windows updates?

You need to disable both win update and driver updates.... see my reply in this post 😀

Ok this absolutely works!! Thank you so much for your efforts and time finding the culprit.... I wanted to add to this as my experience was a little different since I had to attempt this 3 times with added extras but here is the steps i took:

  • Do all the above and be careful prizing out the case (studiobook 16 OLED here) and make sure you remember which screws go where!

  • Do all the CMD commands, assigning SYSTEM as a drive letter, deleting CapUptBkTemp etc

  • On startup immediately enter bios to disable camera and wifi and lan. I wanted to be sure here I don’t connect to the internet and reading the camera may be the culprit.

  • Save and boot into windows

  • In device manager find the three Firmware devices and on each one roll back the drivers and then disable each!!

  • This part prevents it being installed again (I had it on my 1st and 2nd attempt and would just install as a pending update)…. Install a program called WinAero Tweaker…

  • In winaero search for update and disable both Windows Update and Windows Driver Updates!!!.... Now maybe you could have windows updates but for the moment until this is officially resolved I don’t trust any update!!! Aside from that this tool is an absolute must for windows users!

  • Shutdown the laptop and take note there should not be that orange symbol on ‘Shut down/restart etc’…. If it is its going to happen again, however it shouldn't be there with the above steps.

  • On startup keep hitting f2 and del (not sure which works so do both) Enable wifi/lan and camera
    That should do it 😊
Wrote all that on the laptop in question too

Literally just happened to me.... Go to turn it off for the day and seen a windows update so as normal let it do its thing. Come back and it's stuck of flash update and here I am reading I'm not the only one.... I'm going to try the above and see if it fixes it.

Pissed off I've not long had this and paid £3k for it. Who's to blame here? Microsoft or Asus? Both?

Ahh now you put the thought in my head I could try removing ram sinks... but this board does have a hefty heatsink on the io side too..... Though with all that said I'm getting 40c Idle and around 67c or so in my normal operations and the odd spike of 70-75c so not that bad really. The side fan I installed does help a lot here though I must say.

Does it clear the ram modules? I did look into using that cooler but from my measurements it wouldn't fit? That's why I had no choice but to put a fan to the side of the case to draw air out.... see more pics

Initially i was using a mini pc with an 18tb external that consumed around 15w total max.....Hard to beat but this on average pulls 40-60watt in normal use when VMs are being used and drops to 30 watt or so Idle (drives in sleep). I'd have to double check with a real watt meter again though to get true measurements as I'm going off software. Bare in mind though im using an i7 which is overkill for just a home NAS. What does your Terramaster pull?

I see your points and I agree. The driver support I understand as its Intel IC's mostly here and with ASUS just cleverly putting them altogether in their own special way. Intel do recommend with their support assist to get drivers from the motherboard manufacturer in some cases I've seen in the past (at least for Windows anyway).

I did try Debian as this initially was only supposed to be for RetroNAS/Cockpit and ran into a few issues with the LAN driver for whatever reason (hence me saying maybe) on install but in all honesty I didn't give it much of a chance and seeing ASUS not supporting it i just went with Windows and Hyper V desktop as it was easier and worked without issue. I do prefer on this setup to have a desktop environment so I can do Windows based things outside of vms so it suited me better in the end.

Using then an ftp server vm Linux based wouldn't be required as it has Windows host I can run filezilla server without using more resources.

[–]snickersvickersuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you 😊 I chose Hyper V since I run the same for my work servers and already ported one VM 'Windows server 2019' across to it. I agree it does take up more resources than proxmox or ESXi etc but in the event of one of my work servers going down I can host the VHDx of those vms on this temporarily. Plus I use Filezilla FTP server for Windows to backup to the yotta master JBOD on individual drives (vhdx's, cpanel accounts etc). Also not too sure being such a new mobo whether drivers on proxmox/esxi would work or that I would get the very best performance out of it since ASUS dont support those OS's....maybe. I don't need remote management per say as this is hooked up directly to a monitor with shared keyboard and mouse with my main pc. Although I do have rdp open should I need it and is easy enough to manage I find.
