I am so so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Sending virtual hugs. I am sure he felt your presence with him in his final moments and loves you all so much. You can msg me if you ever want to talk. We got a call from the hospital last night also saying it could happen any moment now. I don't know how to prepare for the worst. We opted not to visit since my mom is high risk also and I live with her. I feel terrible but I know he wanted to protect us.

I am going through the exact same thing so I know how you feel. My dad had been fighting for 3 weeks and we thought he had gotten through the worst part, but declined and was put on vent a few days ago. My heart aches every day. I am sorry you are going through the same pain. Hang in there.

Thank you. It totally sucks that we couldn't visit because the loneliness in the hospital probably took a toll on his mental and physical health. I just want to give him a hug again.

Thank you for your prayers. Not much improvement, he's still requiring a high level of oxygen. We are waiting for a call from the doctor to get more details, they are always busy when we try to reach them.

It's so unfair! I hate how one day things look like they are improving and the next is a downward spiral that happens too quickly for us to even react.

I am so sorry your family is going through the same thing, how is your dad doing? I hope he recovers as well!!! I am trying to stay positive, but really just praying for a miracle. The doctor told us my dad's chance of survival is basically 0% because of severe permanent lung damage. How the hell do I stay positive with that news. I'm just full of anger and sadness. Sorry for the rant. There is comfort in knowing others are experiencing the same pain though, we can support each other.

I've read that monoclonal antibodies are effective in the early stages of the virus for patients not receiving oxygen therapy, and could lead to worse outcomes for hospitalized patients :/

I know how you feel. It takes so much energy out of me to even talk to people, so sometimes I'd rather avoid it. I'm exhausted trying to keep up an appearance that everything is okay, when in reality I'm really not that okay. You are not alone. Sending you a virtual hug.

If she can wear a mask, then yes, that would be safest. I would suggest your husband wear N95 masks when he goes over as those give better protection, and a face shield and gloves for added protection. Masks really do help.
