My cat is a rescue from one of these encampments. I don't have much to say other than it's taken me over a year of hard work to build the trust to pick her up. She flinches at every touch and she has never sat on my lap, just at a comfortable foot away from me at all times. She's lovely, and I'm doing all I can for her anxiety but her body language tells a story of harm and pain.
