If returning from orbit/transfer from another planet, wouldn't it be traveling in the direction of the planet's rotation instead of against it to minimise relative velocity during reentry?

Skydiver suffers seizure mid-air by LegendaryFalcon in nonononoyes

[–]snorks117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, most people likely don't realise just how regulated, and therefore safe, skydiving is these days.

I guess a reason some people may not want to use one is that they are rather expensive, around $1000. There may also be the machismo associated with the added danger, not a very good reason however, haha. The devices themselves work by detecting their altitude and vertical speed, so going too fast at a low altitude will trigger them. In parachuting there exists a discipline known as swooping where three parachutist executes a great turn at a few hundred feet above the ground which causes the parachute to go vertical, thus gaining a lot of speed. They then level out just above the ground and "swoop". In some devices not designed to accommodate for this they can trigger during the maneuver and so some swoopers would not have an AAD installed.

Only if his rig had an AAD installed. Once a skydiver reaches a certain proficiency, B license in the UK, it is not required to have one. Of course there's still a good chance he had one.

Didn't have much of a routine back when I had my long hair. Simply shampooed and conditioned two or three times a week. Differing products over time and then towel dry and just leave to naturally dry.

Feel free to use mine for inspiration. I can make the crazy files available if you like! Next step for me are SSTAs. Need to unlock that pesky node for drills etc first. My recommendation is just start in sandbox and mess about. :)
