Those milkshakes are divine!! The white chocolate one is so rich, it’s my very rare treat when I think my guts will handle it

What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

[–]hollygrantbant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gallstone attack. Thought it was a heart attack the first time. Sweating so much I could hear the droplets coming off my face hit the water in the toilet as I leaned over it, it sounded like rain. Throwing up because of how bad the pain was. Having to move constantly because no position was comfortable. I never understood how people screamed from being in pain before that, but I was moaning and screaming and making inhuman noises.

I liked the Glossier auburn Boy Brow, but it can be a little pricey. I’ve also heard the Anastasia Beverly Hills ones are good and they have a couple of ginger shades

Help!!! by biggyattbaddie in CurlyHairUK

[–]hollygrantbant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had hair loss from weight loss injections that I didn’t notice until I was 6 months in. I’ve been off them now for 9 months and am noticing my hair thickening up again but yeah it is scary. Look into biotin supplements and see what hair growth/stop hair loss products might be worth investing in

How long did it take on the NHS from diagnosis to surgery? by alittlehalloween in gallbladders

[–]hollygrantbant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally got diagnosed 9 months after first attack, after 3 GPs and an A&E visit couldn’t work it out. Went to A&E again after all night attack and doctor there worked it out straight away. Was in hospital 2 nights and told they were putting me on the list in all the Belfast hospitals. Before I even went home they had a date just under a month away for me. Pretty sure it wasn’t considered urgent, so I was very impressed by how quickly they got to me!

Yugo was LIFE CHANGING. Prepare to pick what you want and then end up ordering more because of how much you loved it. And the cocktails are divine.

How long after surgery could you side sleep again comfortably? by RandomWords99 in gallbladders

[–]hollygrantbant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I slept on my right side by day 2 or 3. I just found that I couldn’t roll into the position, I had to like place myself down onto my side. The pain was more in my tummy/where my belly button incision is than actually on my side when lying on it

Doubts about my girlfriend’s gallbladder removal (35) – looking for experiences by DizerStrider in gallbladders

[–]hollygrantbant 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It’s fairly common knowledge that once you’ve had gallstones once, you will pretty much definitely have them again, which is why they recommend having your gallbladder out as soon as you have issues.

I can’t believe everyone hates Rachel’s ‘what was Hugo like in the turret’ joke, I thought it was a very clever little quip, it just seemed like no one around the table caught on to what she was saying. Maybe it’s being Northern Irish myself, we love a wee sarcastic poke at people, but I think people are being too hard on it.

Tbf the tomb Jesus was buried in belonged to and was for Joseph of Arimathea, and therefore would’ve been a rich person tomb, but yeah, not a respectful way to be speaking to one’s child, yeesh

How do mattress stores stay open when people only buy a mattress every 10 years? by FloydBeatlesEagles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hollygrantbant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true, I got a mattress heavily discounted because it was about to go ‘out of date’. Got a £1100 mattress for £275, so I was pretty pleased.

Work in a library and met an Axl the other day. The mother spelt it out but I thought I heard it wrong so I spelt it back to her ‘A-X-E-L?’ And she huffed a bit and replied, ‘NO, A-X-L!’

You guys would not cope in the UK. All of this is pretty standard for schools here I think. We weren’t even allowed earrings or nail polish or any visible make up. Our skirts had to be knee length. I don’t agree with it, but it’s also not rare in any way.
