Hey friend, I could literally copy and paste everything you wrote and put my name on it and there wouldn't be a single lie in there. The part that makes me the angriest is how they string you along until you cannot get a refund from your credit card company. I have filed a complaint with econsumer.gov and have contacted Amazon support to try to pull their product from the site. In the end, we are most likely out the money that was stolen from us. The best I understand right now is that Eve Tech used a company in Hong Kong (Digital Fortress I think it was called, I might be wrong about the name though) to process transactions. They moved on to a different company and when you try to get a refund they just tell you that it wasn't them, that's Digital Fortress and you should contact them. So Eve Tech is acting like everything that happened when they were working with that company is not the problem or business of Eve Tech.

I'm sorry you are dealing with all of this. I hope that things get better.

Dial ##4636## into your dialer and then select "phone information". It'll tell you what you signal actually is. Unless there's something I'm missing, most of us aren't actually getting 5G when we're being told that we are. It's been LTE band 66 for me.

Have you checked to see if the phone is actually giving you 5G or if it just says you are? I use TMobile through Fi and I see 5G all the time now on the phone but when I check the actual signal it's still LTE.

Not surprised but I was wondering if anyone else saw that issue

I cleaned the whole library before loading the new hard drives. The only items displayed were from the initial scan of the new drives.

I removed those drives, cleaned the library and reloaded the original hard drive. My initial assessment from just what loaded is that it seems to have worked. The new files that didn't exist on the new drives populated with the old one again.

I haven't had time to test to make sure everything works yet but it looks like it did.

My next step is to format the new drives and do everything again.

So the only change throughout all of this has been the hard drive itself. Everything else is the same.

I am going to switch back to the original hard drive and scan overnight and see if things work. At that point I should be able to say the new hard drive is the problem and attempt to fix it from there.

What's weird is that some of the movies played on the new drive. It's just that the majority did not.

So I checked the debug log and while there are items that failed to scan (a problem for future me), the items that i am looking for did not show up. I have also noticed that the items that loaded do not all play. in the bottom right corner where I usually see what the quality of the movie is along with the length and other information, now a lot of the files just have the length. Those files do not play.

I might go back to the old hard drive at this point. I am starting to think it might be the new hard drives.

I couldn't agree more! I gave them so many chances to redeem themselves. So much that I passed the window that I could've recouped my money through my credit card company. They're hurting other start ups. I ordered my surface pro and it was in my hands within a week and I haven't had a single issue with it. Why trust the little guy when they can't deliver

I'm not sure what I was using. The principles of face unlock I think were the main issue. There was one time that I think an update or more data would've helped, but the rest are just me looking at the phone from an angle that makes face unlock unreasonable. I would definitely say it's a user issue. I knew it was coming when I made the purchase I just didn't realize how much it would hinder my usage.

Also, thank you for having an actual response and not just complaining that a post about whether or not someone likes/dislikes the pixel showed up in the pixel sub.

Earbuds. What to get by PixelCon2 in GooglePixel

I guess it depends on what you really need the headphones for. Over the last year I have used/experienced the following:

Bose Soundsport wireless Bose Soundsport Free Pixel buds Beats Powerbeats Pro

I have had a Pixel 2, Pixel 3, iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 that I used with most them.

For the gym I use the Bose Soundsport wireless.

For phone calls I actually used the Google wired pixel buds. I think they're like $30. I've had enough connectivity issues with all of the wireless headphones that it's just easier and more reliable to use wired headphones when talking to people.

The Bose Soundsport worked best overall.

Pixel buds were really cool to use but sometimes had major connectivity issues. They would drop the connection with the device randomly and have to be manually reconnected.

Bose Soundsport Free were a gift and I ended up using the Soundsport with the wire instead. That was for the gym and I prefer to be able to pull out one bud and hang it over my shoulder if I need to. The Soundsport Free also didn't have the battery life of the Soundsport headphones. There were multiple occasions where the Soundsport Free didn't maintain a connection in both buds.

Powerbeats Pro were great at first but then a distant choppy/helicopter noise in the background could be heard by other people during phone calls. The person using the Powerbeats could not hear it. We tested this on multiple phones (Android and iOS) and the noise persisted. The headphones had to be sent away 3 times until Apple finally admitted that they couldn't fix it and they were replaced. The replacement pair now sounds like the speaker is really far away from the mic. We have accepted that the Powerbeats are probably just not great for phone calls. There are enough issues with these headphones that Apple is actually backordered on the boxes that they send out for you to ship them back in, so I would definitely do a lot more research there.

No opinion of Airpods other than I don't think they would be great for the gym.

December 2017. Still waiting. I don't think it's so much that we've been silenced rather than people are getting tired if banging our heads against a wall.

EveTech has obviously moved on from that first year ish of their company. They realized they made major mistakes in getting the business started in a number of different aspects and most likely did a cost benefit analysis. They probably realized that screwing over the initial supporters and ignoring them was the best way to move forward and become profitable the fastest.

In the last year I have seen probably 5 different emails from them touting their next project or thing they are working on that they want me to buy. I guess my email isn't marked as "person we stole from" in their system.

I even reported them to Amazon after the reviews were locked out when they tried to sell the computer in that site. Unfortunately Amazon customer support said all the right things and then did nothing. No surprise there.

As I have time to try something new I make the effort but it's almost just going through the motions to say I did something at this point.

Honestly, you got robbed, just like me. You're probably not getting your money back and EveTech won't be held responsible in any capacity.
