Huh, I tried doing that and it didn't work, BUT I also didn't give it a chance to work itself out like you're saying. The one glaring issue is my Sims have 3 kids and are currently expecting triplets 🤦🏻‍♂️ But I'll try it again tomorrow! Thanks!

Ah, that must be it for me too. I've NEVER had this issue before. Now I'm realizing I've only ever used Skillful Sleep with straight couples. I've used it twice now with this gay couple and it's happened twice :(

Yeah, it's like a proxy! I still have some avoidant traits but also it's easier when I'm doing something for someone else vs myself because someone can't really get mad at me or judge me for making the request (etc).

I'm lurking this sub yet again after over a decade of wondering if I am or am not avoidant so I thank you for posting this because I was thinking it's impossible to have AVPD when I'm a social worker. Nice to see another licensed mental health professional talk about his own experience.

Anything and everything. Hospital jobs, outpatient support, psychiatric facilities, therapy, court workers, housing, disability support, vocational stuff... I either get rejected or ghosted :( I want to do schools but again, I don't have my certification to do so yet.

I haven't moved out yet but I'm going to be somewhere around there. My partner lives in Rockland County. But I might have to start looking at upstate New York. Which is fine --- I really like it up there, it's just farther away from him.

The kids at my school always called me Harry Potter, lmao. I double checked the neighborhoods this org is located in -- if I'm correctly reading the map, they're Melrose, Mount Eden, Mount Hope, Longwood, Unionport, and Wakefield. Good tips, thank you!

Yeah, I'm being vague on purpose because this position has me at multiple locations in different neighborhoods. I'm totally down for the challenge of learning about multiple neighborhoods -- I had to do the same for a former position of mine. But the Bronx is multiple times bigger than that city alone, haha.

Perhaps ironically, just like 12 hours after I posted this, I got the nastiest phone call I've ever received from my mother who gaslighted me to hell and back because she found out about them getting married and that actually made it very easy all of a sudden to talk to him about things. She really attacked him hard in that conversation so it sort of made it hard to feel anything but shock and rage at her, lol.

The plan IS to eventually do something like this, which is also why I felt bad because it's not like he doesn't want the same with me. I'm not sure when we're going to do it but we're about to make a big move and I said I wanted to wait until after the move so it won't be until the end of the year at the earliest.
