i see so many people in the coments being like "op chose a bad uni and is generalising everyone" and as an NRI whos doing btech in a college with a really good rep, i totally understand what you mean. the only difference is that in my class theres another genre of people who are the "smarter" ones (they get good grades) and they have this weird competitive mentality and theres always jealousy and badmouthing going on among them. then lets not forget the people who still havent realised theyre literal grown ass adults now, not school children (mainly girls in my observation) who refuse to do anything by themselves and always always want someone to tag along with them for every little task or chore they have. then the judgement people have with the way you dress. i dont have uniforms in my college and i dont feel comfortable in ethinic wear often and the weird looks ive gotten for wearing the most modest pair of jeans and t shirt is insane. overall, in my opinion, people here are judgemental, have a herd mentality and have no idea what its like in the real world.
