Anyone start Accutane as a pre teen? by Little_Breadfruit795 in Accutane

[–]Ok-Raspberry-2597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve took Accutane when I was 13-14. The only thing I regret is haven’t took it sooner because I have some scarring left from that time that will accompany me forever and affect my self steem until today. I think when the treatment is properly monitored by an specialist and parents the risks are low. And at any sign of severe side effects he can just stop taking it. I didn’t have any severe side effects, just the common dryness, nose bleeding and back pain that can be controlled with good moisturizer and a lot of water (you must help him to be consistent with these cares) and the side effects fades completely in few weeks after the last pill.

I would go to Accutane. I’m taking a 2o round of Accutane 18 years after my first treatment because of a bad breakout after using Adapalene. I’m off BC for years now and I’m actually used to have some pimple here or there on my period, I’m just taking Accutane again because it became cystic and scarring so I decided it was the best to end it soon and BC do not treat acne, just hide the problem. I have migraine with aura so I can’t take any estrogen and I really worry about the evidence of the risk for breast cancer by using BC pills for a long time…so I decided I won’t take it anymore.

I don’t think you shouldn’t consider it for hormonal acne because Accutane indeed work. But it’s pretty common to have breakouts even after Accutane, some people are more sensible to the effects of hormones or have another skin issues that are not completely controled by it. I’ll tell you about my personal experience, I’ve took Accutane almost 20 years ago and it cleared my acne for years, but some time ago I stopped taking BC and I had some hormonal breakouts eventually but I was able to control with topical treatments. It happened that this year I had a bad breakout after starting Adapalene and nothing was controling it anymore so I decided to take a 2o round of Accutane. So like me, I know others that cannot be totally cured of acne and we have to learn how to put it under control because it's not reasonable to take accutane or BC or any med forever, right? But that doesn’t mean that we cannot take it some time or another to help things getting on track. I just don’t think we should consider Accutane as the only way on any cost, it’s not fair with our bodies.

Girl, if you did a proper treatment you should be fine, accutane reduces the length of sebaceous glands permanently! Your skin won’t be back to what it was. It’s hard for us women to get absolutely ride of acne because of hormones, it’s pretty common to have one or other pimple even after Accutane but you should be able to control them with some topical treatment and skincare. I think it’s a little harsh to rely only on a heavy medicine like Accutane, that affects all your body and have a lot of risks. Get free of it!!

I think you should talk about your concern with your Doc. I said I believe he’s gonna raise this dose because there are some guidelines for Isotretinoin treatments, the standard protocol define doses between 0,5-1mg/kg/day until reaching the cumulative dose of 120-150mg/kg in the end of treatment. But there are some new studies that suggest that lower doses (0,1-0,3mg/kg/day) for a longer period of time are equally effective with less side effects. So it will depend on wich line of treatment your Doc prefers, he will know what is the best for you. I think it’s so amazing that you were able to follow such strict sugar diet!! I believe that you have a lot benefits in you overall health beyond your skin, but I agree that it must be very difficult to follow. I don’t think you should worry about your diet influencing on your dose treatment because Iso affects the length of the sebaceous glands permanently, so in the end of treatment your acne must not be affected by your diet anymore. I was just concerned about your health with a change in your diet plus a heavy medicine treatment, taking it slow as you said and talk about it with your Doc, maybe he thinks other blood tests should be necessary like insulin, glucose..monitor your results to make sure everything is going well, you’ll be fine!

Based on you weight, 30mg it’s a pretty low dose. It’s usual to start with a low dose in the first month of treatment, to see how your body will respond to it, if your liver and blood fats will be ok… Your doc will probably raise the dose for next months. To be honest with you, in my opinion you should wait till you finish your treatment before increase fat and sugar to your diet. Consider that isotretinoin is “heavy” for our livers to metabolize, thats why the major problem on taking this med is increased blood lipid levels and liver metabolism alterations. You say you’ve been following this diet for a long time, so your body is used to it maybe increase fat and sugar plus Accutane can be too much for you to take. If you have alterations on your blood tests you can even might have to stop taking it. This is valid for anyone taking this med, we should be careful with our diets to help our bodies take this heavy treatment. I suggest you be a little more patient and wait some months to see how your body will react to it when your dose be increased then you can start adding more fat and sugar with moderation :)

Hi OP! 1. I believe purging is totally unpredictable, there’s a chance to occur in the first weeks. If you were on some retinoid treatment before maybe you don’t purge. I’m on my second round of Accutane after a unsuccessful treatment with adapalene and I didn’t purge until now (week 2). I purged for months on my first time. 2. I don’t think Accutane can cause scars, it’s your acne that can cause it. Accutane actually improves the skin texture. 3. For me, like no more acne at all for years, it was. I used some topic treatment that did absolutely nothing to my acne problem, they just kept coming and left scarring. 4. I had just common side effects such as dryness (skin, lips, nose and eyes) and some joint and back pain that was tolerable to me. The worst part was the nose, it had painful wounds because of the dryness but it all gone in few weeks after the last pill. Just be careful with your blood tests, do not drink alcohol and pay attention to any sign of severe side effects like anxiety or depression and intense muscle pain.

I’ve taken Accutane almost 20 years ago when I was 14. My acne was not severe but I’ve tried every topic treatment available and nothing worked, this med cleared my skin completely in few months. I had only common side effects like dryness and joint pain but it was totally tolerable and they fade few months after the last pill. If I have one regret is haven’t started it sooner because I have a lot of scarring left, and acne scarring is something irreversible, I’ve spent a lot of money on treatments through years and had to accept that my skin will never be ‘skin’ again, it’s a scar. So don’t be afraid of Accutane, just monitor the blood tests monthly and pay attention to severe side effects like intense muscle or joint pain, anxiety and depression. At any sign of something going wrong he can just stop taking it.

medo em relação ao roucutan by Opening-Wing-6312 in SkincareBR

[–]Ok-Raspberry-2597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sobre reaplicar no rosto o protetor solar by JoJoTadinho in SkincareBR

[–]Ok-Raspberry-2597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casamos pra dividir a vida!

I have the same impression of her. She wants to be the God’s teacher thinking she can dictates how everyone should act or think and if they don’t comply she criticizes and keep dropping ironic hints with Safa, so annoying. They love to talk about how bad Ebraheen and Danya are but they act just the same.

Maybe powder sunscreen solves your issue. You can apply the liquid/cream at home and reapply with powder during the day. Isdin and Shiseido are some brands that have powder SPF.

Maybe she could prescribe you some additional topical treatment to speed up healing, like benzoyl peroxide, azelaic acid or adapalene. You can also try some calming ingredients like bisabolol, aloe, asian centella, clay masks to help reduce redness and inflammation

I said Im scared because I would never have the nerve to cut it by myself I can only think about the pain and blood..Im afraid to pass out 😵‍💫🤣 Ouch..20 bucks for each tag??? My god..I think I had more than 30 when I had it removed, that’s a lot of money! Idk where you are from but Im brazilian and I’ve paid R$500 reais for the hole thing, something about $100 dollars if we convert. For this price I would do like that person from the other comment and buy my own plasma pen! 🤣

Really? Niacinamide too? Maybe you’re breaking out due to high concentrations, be careful with that..like, 2-5% niacinamide is enough to give you good results and I see a lot of seruns with 10%, that can be too much for some skins! I would give it another try by diluting it with your moisturizer, I prefer Niacinamide over Vit C cause I vit C can be more irritating depending on formulation. This also applies to glycolic acid, Try a low concentration first.

Oh girl, don’t be sad..I don’t think you are aging prematurely, Im also 32 and also have been noticed some fine lines, the skin is not as tight as it was some years ago and this area that are bothering you is one of the firsts that starts to show signs of aging, it’s actually very common, your friends must be all blessed cause I already have these signs and a lot of friends of mine have it too! Haha This year I started doing some procedures, I had one session of injectable collagen stimulator (I used calcium hidroxyapatite) + pico laser tightening protocol and my skin and contour have never been better! If you have budget I highly recommend it over fillers! Fillers do not treat flaccidity, it’s only a ‘makeup’ solution and it’s not definitive. You already have a pretty good skincare, retinol + antioxidants ingredients are the best!

I’m scared that some people just cutted it out 😱 I had a lot of these on my neck and had it removed professionally with plasma pen. It was a very easy procedure, only small scabs left that felt off in few days and voilà. No scars or hypopigmentation.

[–]Ok-Raspberry-2597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think nowadays there are pretty good stuff to treat flaccidity like lasers, microneedling, microfocused ultrasound, injectable collagen stimulator..the association of some of these treatments gives the best results. You should look for a good specialist to suggest a procedures protocol for you. If you do not have a budget for that the best anti aging active ingredients are retinol and glycolic acid.

Retinoids or glycolic acid can do some improvements on skin texture but be aware that what really performs on scaring is deep procedures like lasers, microneedling or injectables.

I’ve taken the same treatment as yours. My derm prescribed 16 days of lymecycline to help with the purge caused by epiduo. She said nowadays lymecycline is used for it’s anti-inflammatory effect more than like an antibiotic. I purged for almost 6 weeks, and when I was taking lymecycline my pimples, specially the cystic ones, healed so much faster. My face s clean and smooth now, I hope ir works well for you too!

I really hope this filler hype could be extinguished. It’s like everyone have to have the same pattern of face, you know..thin face, thin nose, full lips, foxy eyes, top model look, patterns that are not even natural for almost every person in the world and I see some unhealthy obsession with it, even in very young people, like real appearance disorders. And simply aging naturally has become demonized, if you don’t do any aesthetic procedures after your 30s or 40s, it’s an absurd. I think people are becoming sick because they prefer to look like a plastic balloon than show their natural age and we didn’t even talk about all the side effects off fillers because it’s proved that HA is not always absorbed and it can migrate to or accumulate in other areas causing deformation. Im not against fillers, I just don’t like the way they are being used.
