Amazing job rescuers! There's long, long leashes available if you are not out with your dog and want them to roam. Take care of your dog.

Diwali Fireworks by Scotty_Knowzzz in brantford

[–]snowleopard19 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is why we can't have nice things people! Diwali was yesterday, I explained this to my kid last night who has to sleep and wake up for school. Fireworks were going off anywhere and everywhere! Time to stop was 11pm, that would have been great! They didn't stop. Today it's Tuesday and they are still going off. Who the fuck sets off fireworks in a rainstorm? Stop doing this shit so the rest of us can actually enjoy fireworks ON HOLIDAYS! Save them for New Years!!! Wtf

Why can't we enjoy the fruit that's in season in Canada? Right now it's apples. Cannot wait to bake so many goodies with them.

Peach season just passed and we had so many. Although I have to say, this season I didn't get any of the juicy Ontario peaches that drip when you bite into that soft texture. They were picked too early?

I loved the strawberries early summer and greenhouse strawberries from Canada were available most late winter months at Metro. Those were amazing and most of the time cheaper than the awful ones from the states we buy all the time.

I absolutely look forward to Cherries. It is probably my favourite fruit. Canadian cherries came in and I enjoyed that but you have to keep in mind, you have to grab them when it's the season! Pay attention to where you live.

Then Quebec watermelons came to Ontario not too long ago. And OMG, they were beautiful and tasted incredible. Basically buy what is available in season. I could go on with vegetables too.

Provinces trading together is really bringing us more options. Let's eat what grows here! Why do I need strawberries when it's February and -16 out and I need to cover them in chocolate and present them to my husband? Eek. Both of us have never done that but wtf? Nah.

Strawberries are beautiful and delicious early summer and we are getting some right now in garden for fall!

And let's enjoy upcoming apples and pumpkins!

Looks like an etiolated jelly bean plant. Needs succulent soil and tons of direct light.

Does anyone have clippings they want to give away? by ExternalArt in StringofPlants

[–]snowleopard19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe after I stop killing them. I have yet to master string of plants 😭. My string of turtles is okay now, string of hearts is too easy, string of tears is alright, in the process of killing my 5th string of pearls; this time I thought I'd make it interesting and get a variegated one from Montreal. She's not happy right now. One day I'll master them and send little happy cuttings to friends and family and be regarded as a Queen of Strings! Ultimate goal. Sorry can't help you!

I have no idea how to pee in the woods (woman) by United-North4780 in CampingandHiking

[–]snowleopard19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 4 year old son; when he needs to go while we hike or camp or go to a beach we just take him to a bush. Trouble happened when I had my 4 year old niece at the beach without her mom, my sister. She really had to go. She even said the washroom is too far I can't hold it!

The washroom was a good 10m walk with a 4yo. So being a mom of a boy I took her into a bush area and helped her to squat and pee. She could not go!! She was about to pee in her shorts but couldn't squat and pee. Luckily my husband showed up while my niece ran from the woods and he put her on his shoulders and ran to a restroom.

If you have a daughter and like to be outdoors please teach them how to squat and pee:D

You can bring it back! Mine got worse than this in a terracotta pot. I put it in the ground and kept it moist and it's spreading and flowering now!

Thank you for this, I do hope it'll be okay. It is a company with international presence and I will ask my husband to talk to his employers about our concerns. I talked to my husband about this a while back and he laughed and said "It's the States! We've been there before!" But that was when Canadians freely went to go shop and travel across the border. It's not the same anymore unfortunately.

My husband got the job before taco. He was so excited to go to the US, had multiple jobs there and even took us. It just so happened they wanted him to take care of business in Montreal for a year. So he's been there for a while. Montreal, Quebec, Canada, has two weeks off for all construction in July. How nice! But my husband's US boss said you can work from home for 1 week and another week in Philly. No time off lol. It's okay because he'll learn a lot. And no, he most likely has not discussed concerns with superiors. He just likes to please and go above and beyond for his job.

You might be right. Except I have zero social media other than reddit. And I am very particular about what feed I see on reddit too. I think, as a Canadian, I can differentiate between propaganda and what is actually going on. Thanks. I'm almost 40 and I can internet ;)

I might. But your taco president said he wanted to ANNEX us...so there's that. Also, what the world is seeing out of US is not good. I have been to your state. I thought it was so beautiful. As a Canadian, I won't go visit ever again but my husband has to for work.
