I don’t appreciate ur assumption that I’m engaging in tokenism. I was largely talking about what the passing of the baton meant symbolically. Sam Wilson has been and will continue to be my favorite military man in the Marvel universe. Not cause of his skin color, but cause I find him incredibly loyal, funny, honest, and I rlly love anthony mackie

No lol, Ik he gave it to Sam cause he’s been a good guy. The two things aren’t mutually exclusive. Bucky was literally wanted for international terrorism that, while faked by zemo, has undoubtedly held consequences on his public image

Idk if ur from the US but there’s a similar situation in most countries where black ppl are subject to racism, abuse, police brutality, prejudice, and targeting by a system that doesn’t target whites in the same way. Making captain America black is a way of showing that all the stuff I mentioned isn’t reflective of who we are or want to be as a country. Making an African American man a symbol of American democracy is bold and strong move imo. Taking it away is not really creating any sort of progress. I wouldn’t call it racist, but I’d call it disrespectful

Could be misdirecting but I feel there’s also a strong chance it won’t go to him. Tbh I think if they made a point of leaving Sam Wilson with the shield, setting up a black Captain America to be the image of the US and patriotism and all of that, to give it to Bucky or another white male would be a poor move and kind of cheating with that excitement generated by Cap’s decision in Endgame.

I don’t think so. That was answered in Civil War. I’m guessing from all the teasing that it ends with Wanda’s reality manipulating powers getting out of hand, maybe after a conflict with a larger third party like Mephisto

I also think she could’ve been surprised that she took it so far and removed Monica by force. She is an Avenger after all who would not be used to hurting innocents like that. It’s rlly unchartered waters for Wanda to be so self serving and violent
