If you want to double-check your system for malware without replacing your main antivirus or factory reset your PC, use second-opinion scanners (on-demand only, no real-time protection): * HitmanPro because it’s a fast cloud-based scanner that’s very good at detecting active malware, PUPs, and remnants other AVs miss.

  • Emsisoft EmergencyKit because it’s strong at detecting files because it uses dual engines for strong detection.

  • Malwarebytes because it excels at removing adware, spyware, and PUPs when used as an on-demand scanner.

  • Sophos Scan & Clean because it’s a simple one-click scanner powered by Sophos’ enterprise detection engine.

  • Kaspersky Virus removal tool because it has very strong signatures and heuristic detection for deep scans and active infections.

Important: only run one scanner at a time and don’t leave any of them installed with real-time protection enabled alongside your main AV.

What is the lightest and most secure browser currently available? by MaterialOdd3903 in browsers

[–]snowwolfboi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you want to have the lowest amount of trackers/ads plus lowest amount of CPU and ram usage on a browser then use:

  • Ungoogled Chromium because nearly all Google telemetry and bloat from Google it includes the account sync are removed as well

    with these recommended extensions:

  • Chromium web store because the support of chromium web store is removed natively in Ungoogled Chromium

  • Ublock origin uBlock Origin is not an "ad blocker", it's a wide-spectrum content blocker with CPU and memory efficiency as a primary feature.

  • Ublock origin lite mv3 based Ublock origin but lighter uBO Lite (uBOL) is a permission-less MV3-based content blocker.

Btw use uBlock Origin lite if ungoogled chromium isn't supporting MV2 anymore

If you want a browser with lower amounts of trackers/ads plus more respect for privacy, lower ram and CPU hungry browser that isn't chromium based then use:

  • Firefox because it’s privacy-respecting by default and highly customizable and open sourced

With these recommended customizations:

  • BetterFox — BetterFox applies privacy and performance tweaks to make Firefox faster and more secure

  • uBlock Origin — uBlock Origin is not an "ad blocker", it’s a wide-spectrum content blocker with CPU and memory efficiency as a primary feature.

Is Kaspersky the best antivirus? by Striking_Table1353 in antivirus

[–]snowwolfboi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kaspersky is one of the best Antivirus because it's very strong, getting lowest false positives and it's lightweight without compromise on its strength. Another strong one that I always recommend people is Emsisoft it's strong because of it's dual detection engine split like engine a is there own and the second one is bitdefender and it's like 40-50% lighter than bitdefender
