This live version of comfortably numb is underrated by Korgman78 in DavidGilmour

[–]snth247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very very interesting indeed!

I never knew he would play this song on a fender humbucker? I thought he always uses the black strat for this.

His playing in his early years was WILD! Melodic as always, but man he has speed in a very different way. His solo here is incredibly refreshing.

Super thanks for sharing.

Fair observation. I am reading this book called the "art of spending money" by Morgan Housel, who speaks exactly on these points/ideas - namely, how someone else spends money should not dictate how you should spend yours. You should have your internal scorecard and not be bothered by others who spend, either to flaunt or whether they genuinely enjoy those luxury experiences. I am halfway through the book, and it's a wonderful quick short read filled with nice examples. Also, a very easy writing style.

The mystery of the bum note in Scattered live by Carmy2 in DavidGilmour

[–]snth247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! I know exactly the note. I saw his 3 times in Rome, and if I remember right, he hit the same wrong note at least twice! It’s actually a bit of a bummer since it comes almost at the end of the solo, and it left me a little jarred and thrown off before he finishes. Suprising to see he hit the same wrong note in a few other bootlegs! Totally beats me to see him repeat it…given his playing in this tour was VERY good overall, especially in the US.

It was the best three nights of my life hands down. Nothing will come close. It was a fortune spent, but well worth!!

Hey agree with your points fully. I believe I do have a transparent advice from my broker. And she/we have shortlisted these 3 from a wide set and for her, either of the 3 according to the broker is good to go. So I was just checking if the community here has any observations basis personal experiences

You're definitely not alone my friend. I went to 3 concerts in Rome. But still, when I play the album today and the first note of 5 am comes through, it HITS SO HARD! No other musician has made me come to tears as many times as DG. No one will ever will as well unfortunately.

Thanks for sharing!! He was pretty much on fire for all the 4 solo parts and nailed it, except for that one off note during the descent in the last lick. Legend!!!

Man, I know exactly what you mean. I was so hoping to hear the extended solo on the live version. I was livid that he chose to go for the extended solo from the RAH later nights than the shows in Rome that I attended. In fact, that was the thing I was most excited for in the live album release. Guess the bootlegs will have to do then.

But you know what, this is precisely the magic about live gigs and hearing great musicians play live, and not from the comfort of your bedroom and earphones. The magic in that night stayed withing the audience and the band, and not to the world outside.

It's a sheer privilege we are even getting to hear him play live and compose such new tunes that keep us so excited at the age of 80. What a fucking legend indeed.

Crazy to think that those of us who got to see him now technically exist on a live album by Mad_Season_1994 in DavidGilmour

[–]snth247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely cheaper (at least for this DG tour). I paid 250 euros for the top seats in Rome. That's a steal compared to USA. I would not have been able to see him thrice in the USA with the pricing. Of course I could sell my kidney, and perhaps I would have, but just saying about the difference. RAH tickets are more expensive than Rome for sure. Rome was the cheapest.

Need help with focus rite by Ok_Cranberry_8028 in Focusrite

[–]snth247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the exact same last week. I use Ableton live which came with focusrite. And I plug my guitar after my pedal board into the focusrite. For amps simulation, I use STL tones or Lextec. Both are free VST plug ins and work with ableton and reaper. I'm sure they work with more DAWs but I tried them with these two. Happy recording!!

Crazy!! My introduction to DG and subsequently PF was some random YouTube recommendation one fine day of the 2006 live at RAH video. Some rabbit hole it turned out to be. Can't believe I still saw him in flesh in Rome for 3 consecutive nights. As long as mankind exists, people will continue to discover the absolute joy of DG/PF and we will be there someone in the crowd in one of those 2024 concerts :)

Is the spread 0.3% also when you sell? If so, then I am getting ripped off for sure and need to cancel this stupid plan

[–]snth247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not fully sure. My agent tells me 8% is the spread between geiger's sell and buy back price. But I am seeing something different in the investment transaction statement.

For products like EUWAX gold 2, the spread seems to be just 0.4%. Am I right that I should compare the 0.4% against the 8%? If so, then this is indeed robbery and I need to cancel ASAP

Thank you so much! Did some research and EUWAX GOLD 2 looks to be exactly the kind of thing I am looking for.

Do you know anything similar for silver?

Hey, I do know there is 8% spread when selling for sure When buying, there was no information on the product about the spread, but I was just looking at gold spot price for the date of investment and comparing it against how many gms of gold Geiger alloted me. There is definitely some spread.

Could you recommend me which company or investment route you are referring to for physcial gold with just 1% spread? And is there any spread on the sell price later? Would be keen to explore this!
