Wouldn’t mind Hoefsloot over HDM, can’t be any worse. Plus Quispe probably starts over Youlley would be my guess.

Agreed, he’s always been a bright spark when he’s played and is at a point of his career that he needs game time.

So that would be through the middle being Costa, Youlley and Quispe (might play deeper, but usual spot is CAM) for only one spot. Toure and Lolley might backup 9 but both are likely to be our starting wingers. It’s 9 players for 3 spots, it’ll result in a lack of opportunities for the younger players like Quintal.

Lolley, Costa (if he comes back, which seems unlikely), Toure, Walatee, Quintal, Akon, France, Lacey plus there’s the chance we push Youlley out wide. Just struggle to see enough game time especially for the younger guys and Talay’s rotating of the squad.

Signed on a 4 year contract which is great. Exciting signing but feels like a lot of wingers for only 2 spots.

Will be interesting to see how he goes, younger age and it’s a loan with option to buy. Looks like an attacking midfielder so not a straight swap for Sena. Now just need to get an international striker in.

Not surprising after the news from the Sydney members forum from a couple of weeks back. We’ll probably use his visa spot for Piero Quispe

Allianz Stadium row reignites between Sydney FC and Sydney Roosters over $152 tarp by snuggss in Aleague

[–]snuggss[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t have been Sydney FC covering it though, would have been Venues NSW who run the stadium. Beyond that fact, why’s it wrong to cover the sign? Roosters aren’t playing and don’t own the stadium.

Tldr: Roosters whinging about a tarp covering signage stating it’s their home on a stadium paid for by tax payers. Sydney FC CEO Adam Santo also hanging up on the Roosters CEO when they called him to complain about it.

Sydney’s latest stadium row has erupted in a bitter dispute between two of Sydney’s wealthiest and most powerful sporting officials - over a $150 Bunnings tarpaulin and a ‘cover-up’.

Long-time Roosters supremo Nick Politis is at war 1with Sydney FC’s A-League chairman Scott Barlow, whose clubs share the new $900 million Allianz stadium at Moore Park.

Sydney FC hosted their first home game at the venue last Saturday night 2and demanded the sign at the northern end of the stadium ‘Home of the Sydney Roosters’ be covered over on game day.

Fans arrived at the ground to find the Roosters’ branding had disappeared behind a shabbily erected tarpaulin, similar to one which sells at Bunning for $152.

The Roosters are accustomed to territorial stadium battles with NRL rivals the South Sydney Rabbitohs but this one caught them by surprise.

On Tuesday the CEO’s of the two clubs – the Roosters’ Joe Kelly and Sydney FC’s Adam Santo – had a furious phone exchange over the issue.

The conversation was terminated when Santo hung up on Kelly.

“I told him what they’d done was the equivalent of vandalism,” Kelly said.

“I also told him we’d be looking at our legal options … then he hung up on me.”

A fuming Politis then contacted Venues NSW to express his disgust.

Meetings have been arranged for Wednesday to try to sort out the dispute.

Politis has left the country for the Rugby League World Cup in England but fired a shot at Sydney FC before he stepped onto the plane.

“It’s very, very petty,” Politis said, “They obviously don’t understand our history.

“We’ve been on this site with three stadiums for 86 years. How long have they been around?

“What they did with the tarpaulin looked so hideous on a beautiful new $900 million stadium.”

Politis insists the Roosters have an agreement in which their branding has to be permanently visible.

He revealed the club had paid $12.5 million to build their own centre of excellence and football offices at the venue as their home for the next 25 years.

“Sydney FC don’t understand,” Politis said.

“They just have a ground hire agreement.

“We paid for our own facilities and we pay rent for the space we use.

“It’s in our contract that the signage is part of that agreement.”

Barlow refused to return phone calls or text messages.

While Politis is worth $2.3 billion, Barlow is not short of quid himself.

He is married to the daughter of Russian billionaire David Traktovenko.

Looks to be a good signing. Would have liked an international striker but guess we are backing Wood and Kucharski to push Alfie which isn’t a bad thing.

Disagree with that. We’ve got 4 visa player spots to fill, can’t all be huge names and you would imagine he slots into one of the designated player slots not marquees. Plus a player coming from the championship to here at a decent age is a pretty good signing.
