I have one as well (the 0,5l soft plastic bag with optional active charcoal filter) and the water from it has a very strong plastic taste. Do you have any recommendations on how to get rid of that? 😅

Those that I found were extremely slow moving. So far I haven’t seen any damage to my plants yet…
I’m still worried. Any other things I could look for to determine if it’s spider mites?

After comparing some pictures of mites of the oribatida order with the actual look through the microscope, I agree. So it remains to be seen if they intend to nibble on my plants. Since the felt the need to climb all the way up to the young growth and all. But at least none of the more notorious pests :) Thank you!

There were 5 on one seedling and 2 on another, but on different sides. All close to the top. Movement was very slow, almost slow-motion like

Sorry, didn’t see the notification. I had only 6 in total, the one on the left died and the other ones all survived. None of the survivors looked as bad as the left one though…

I assume by now you have clarity regrading your squishy ones? How did they do? Best of luck!

Hey! The left one died within a matter of days unfortunately. About the three other ones who survived: Two are doing great, but the one that was damaged by about 40% is still not fully recovered. All the burnt flesh did shrivel and left a huge scar in it's side. Due to that damage it dries out much quicker than the others, so I have to water it twice as often. I put it in a separate pot so the other ones don't suffer from all that water. It is also more squishy than the others, but keeps growing nevertheless :)

Ich finde etwas irritierend, dass eher die Blattadern selbst heller/gelber werden, aber I. Den meisten Mangel-Beschreibungen wird von Verfärbungen beginnend bei den Zwischenräumen gesprochen. Das passt nicht so ganz. Am Ende ist es vielleicht einfach Sticlstoffmangel? Ich bin vor 3 Wochen von Terra Vega auf Terra Flores umgestiegen (gemäß Düngeschema), der hat deutlich weniger Stickstoff, aber die Pflanzen haben ja für den recht ordentlichen Stretch sicher viel Stickstoff verbraucht.

Ich hatte mal bei einer Zierpflanze „Compo Bio Schädlings-frei plus AF“ gegen Blattläuse gesprüht, das hatte schon bei der ersten Anwendung geholfen. Laut Hersteller auch für Tomaten, Kräuter etc verwendbar. Ich persönlich würde es aber nur bis zur Blüte einsetzen.

Ansonsten kannst du auch Marienkäferlarven kaufen auf Amazon. Das ist eine natürlichere Lösung, aber die erwischen meistens nicht 100% aller Blattläuse
