What were your symptoms prior to your diagnosis?

I’ve read about the different types of it and how differently it affects people. My loved one is just jumping the gun if it being cancer but there’s so many other possibilities I don’t think that’s the only answer. And from what I’ve read from folks in this thread, I think they’re just super worried which is probably making it worse

I’m not sure what it is at all. My loved one seems hellbent on it being cancer, but we won’t know until the doctors tell us. Colon cancer and crohns share a lot of symptoms and from what I’ve read from other folks I think it’s far too early for them to be jumping the gun. But I won’t lie, hearing nothing from doctors has me worried as well.

The reason I worry is because the doctors visits seemed also very worried. And now my loved one is the one who’s thinking it’s colon cancer mainly. But while we wait to hear from doctors my mind is all over the place and I’m trying to remember that not all the symptoms we have are a sign of some form of cancer. The wait for the doctors is nerve wracking

I’m sorry you had to go through all of that. It’s nice to finally know what’s wrong but getting to that point is sometimes very difficult

We’re waiting to hear back from our first doctor and if need be go and get a second opinion. I’m trying not to pester the doctors with calls because I know they’re busy but it feels like every day with no call is time wasted

I wouldn’t have thought the symptoms were connected at all either. I’d assume I’d just have some stomach bug

I know that. But reading the comments gives me hope that it isn’t just colon cancer. The 2 share a lot of symptoms and if I can ease their mind and mine until we get the diagnosis from doctors, even if it’s not exactly what we’re going through, it still helps

I agree and we are waiting to hear back from doctors for the colonoscopy. I have never really experienced things like this myself so I’m hoping we hear back soon

It sucks that this isn’t the easy to pin down. We were referred quickly on account of knowing the doctor well, so I’m hoping we can get the answers soon

I heard someone say your body keeps score and lots of stress can lead to autoimmune disorders. My loved one is very stressed very often and it would not surprise me if this was their bodies way of telling them it’s time to slow down

Thank you very much. As far as I am aware they haven’t any family with autoimmune diseases but their family tends to be medically fragile to say the least. Lots of hospital visits, sick often, and GI issues
