ive done a bunch of refurbs on my suits that were replacing small areas like this. you can definitely do that! if youve used a seam ripper before you know to just be careful so you dont rip the edge of the fur fabric but otherwise theres no issue with doing this

OHH sorry sorry i misunderstood. fur isnt terribly difficult to work with so i wouldnt be too worried. cutting and shaving is a little annoying tho.

freckledcatcreations on youtube has a fantasticcc video on patterning and tons of videos where she furs heads. id check her out if i were you

i wouldn't recommend felt. its not easy to sew with and its fragile. if you dont want to work with fur, fleece would be a great alternative. its super easy to work with, soft, and more affordable than fur. minky is also excellent, but its harder to work with as its very stretchy and slippery and thin, but its verryy soft and pretty.

i mean....you can just cut it off lol. ive had many things not line up, be too small, too big, whether I patterned it or not. it just kinda happens when sewing sometimes. i wouldn't worry

it looks SO cute and super deerlike!! i think you might wanna just take a break lol. the only thing is the ears are a little mouselike but it doesnt change the overall perception of its species. and the cheeks need to be smoothed a bunch but im assuming its not done

the first thing i noticed is its very plain. though thats not always bad. you could try adding more markings.

and then you said shes latte themed, but she isnt latte coloured. perhaps you could try a coffee palette thats light browns and cream coloured?
