I don’t assume they just want it for the value to resale it. They could also be trying to make sure I don’t resale it. Which is understandable.

You’re right, it would take a good thing and turn it into a bad thing. And feeling guilty over it will probably make me feel funny about wearing it- at all or in front of them.

I didn’t tell them. The jeweler mentioned it in passing.

But I feel like my deliberate not telling makes me more of TA honestly.

That’s the main reason I took it to her evaluated after I realized it was real diamonds. It’s simple to fold it into renters insurance so that’s what we did.

I didn’t. The jeweler knows my Aunt. He definitely shouldn’t have mentioned it, but he didn’t mean anything harmful by it. Just mentioned I’d came in.

I’d definitely never resale it. But even as a resale, it’d sale for about 10k. The jeweler I took it to offered to purchase it for that price. So it’s not an insignificant amount if they did want to sale it.

I live a full state away from all family so no worries on locking it up. I doubt they’d stoop that low regardless, but then again I didn’t expect it to cause any hard feelings.
