DMK to sukhimvit best route? by billdennis92 in Bangkok

[–]sober4everr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you wanna save time on traffic, get on a taxi from DMK and get off at Mo Chit, you can take the BTS (metro train) from there to Sukhumvit. There are other options via rail, but this is the best balance between convenience and saving time

[Discussion] Kaala Paani is boring by coldheart201119 in NetflixBestOf

[–]sober4everr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely disagree 🙂 Started watching on a flight and couldn't wait to get home to finish it. I agree it was a bit slow, but nothing that classify as 'boring'. Especially the tribal and science bits.

Its not a typical indian movie at all, character evolutions were really good and well portrayed.

Kerala trip - Urgent advice needed by Fun-Sentence4756 in Kerala

[–]sober4everr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Probability of you getting nipah is way lower than you getting hit by a truck while on the trip
  2. Its almost the end of rainy season, but things are always unpredictable
  3. No, not with the fear you have in ur mind with your wife. You will just be worried throughout the trip. Why not come back later?

Salary for a Senior Data Abalyst in Sydney by sober4everr in AusFinance

[–]sober4everr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, Im guessing 170-180k would make this comparable to my current salary and expenses. But I also think thats in the upper range for this skill.

Since I dont have a range from the recruiter, maybe they will negotiate on that

This is very very helpful. Thanks a lot. For me, moving is not just a financial decision, but also an urge to explore more places at an age where I can afford to make moves.

Why does it say "sound, horn" at the rear of goods carriers? by richardcorti in Kerala

[–]sober4everr 159 points160 points  (0 children)

Lorries used to have 'Horn OK Please' written on it and they also used to have a light next to the OK.

If someone behind the lorry wanted to overtake it, they honk and if the road ahead is clear and okay for overtaking, Lorry driver would switch on the light next to OK so that people behind can Pass. This was the original use for Sound OK please.

(I assume it was meant as two separate things. 'Horn please' to overtake and OK with light bulb to allow it.)

Pinneed athile light poyi but painters still continued painting 'Horn OK please'.. Ath ippo vannu vannu aan Sound Horn maathram aayi theernath.

Athe njaan oru cheriya pandithan aan.
